Fishing All the rivers in the Châtillonnais are class 1 streams (premium trout waters) and are filled with brown trout and graylings. All fishing techniques are possible: Czech nymphing, spinner, minnow, fly. However, the Châtillonnais is above all a fly fishing paradise! Some streams and ponds are available for the full day and are listed below. Pond fishing: Gurgy-le-Château: carp, tench, pike and trout Permits on sale at Roger Bruey’s, +33 380.81.04.07 / open from March to September on weekends and bank holidays. La villeneuve-les-convers: 1 ha Municipal pond with trout, carp, perch and roach. Permits on sale at Yves Cendrier’s, +33 380.96.20.97 or Georges Fournet’s, +33 380.96.20.63/ open from May 1st to September 15th every day. Marcenay: Class 2, 90 ha pond. Permits on sale at the Laignes Tourist Office and on site at the “Le Santenoy” hotel. Open from June 1st to September 30th. Riel-les-Eaux: 3 ha pond with tench, roach, crayfish, pike and carp.
