CDD post-doc au CNRM-GAME et au Laboratoire d’Aérologie «
Assimilation de radiances mesurées par satellite en chimie
atmosphérique » (12 mois) – See below text in English –
Dans le cadre d’un projet collaboratif entre le CNRM-GAME (Météo-France
et CNRS) et le Laboratoire d’Aérologie (Université de Toulouse et CNRS), le
RTRA/STAE finance un CDD post-doc de 12 mois.
Les travaux à effectuer portent sur l’assimilation de radiances mesurées
dans l’infra-rouge par des capteurs satellitaires pour en tirer de
l’information sur le contenu en ozone et en CO dans la troposphère. Ces
travaux s’effectueront avec le système MOCAGE-PALM (3d-FGAT et/ou 4dVAR) et reposent sur le modèle KOPRA (IMK, Karlsruhe, Allemagne). Ces
tâches requièrent une bonne maîtrise du langage FORTRAN, des scripts
Unix, ainsi que de bonnes qualités de rédaction scientifique. Une
expérience préalable dans la modélisation numérique en chimie de
l’atmosphère ou en assimilation de données est souhaitée. De plus, une
expérience dans le traitement de données satellitaires de chimie ou dans
le domaine du transfert radiatif seraient un avantage.
Le poste est à pourvoir dès que possible. Le salaire net mensuel proposé
est de 2200€ à 2500€ par mois suivant l’expérience du candidat qui sera
retenu. Le travail s’effectuera au sein de deux équipes localisées à
Toulouse, l’une au laboratoire d’Aérologie (Observatoire Midi-Pyrénées,
www.aero.obs-mip.fr) et l’autre au Centre National de Recherches
Météorologiques (www.cnrm.meteo.fr).

Post-doc position at CNRM-GAME and Laboratoire d’Aérologie «
Satellite radiances assimilation for the chemical composition of
the troposphere » (12 months)
In the framework of a collaborative project between CNRM-GAME (MétéoFrance and CNRS) and Laboratoire d’Aérologie (University of Toulouse and
CNRS), the RTRA/STAE funds a post-doctoral position of 12 months.
The research to be undertaken concerns the assimilation of radiances
measured in the infra-red by satellite instruments. The study will focus on
wavelengths that are sensitive to carbon monoxide and ozone, with the
objective to constrain their tropospheric content. The work will be carried
out with the MOCAGE-PALM assimilation system (3d-FGAT and/or 4d-VAR)
and will use also the KOPRA model (IMK, Karlsruhe, Germany). The tasks
require good skills in FORTRAN and Unix, as well as in scientific writing. A
previous experience in numerical modelling in atmospheric chemistry or in
data assimilation is preferred. In addition, an experience in the analysis of
atmospheric chemistry remote-sensing data or in radiative transfer
modelling would be an advantage.
The position starts as soon as possible. The net salary proposed is in the
range 2200€ to 2500€ per month, depending upon the candidate’s
experience. The work will be carried out in collaboration between two labs
located in Toulouse (France), Laboratoire d’Aérologie (Observatoire MidiPyrénées, www.aero.obs-mip.fr) and Centre National de Recherches
Météorologiques (www.cnrm.meteo.fr).
