Ukraine : l’armée de l’Air modernise ses Su-27

Le commandement ukrainien a pris la
décision de moderniser la flotte de
chasseurs Su-27 ainsi que les versions
biplaces Su-27UB pour l‟entraînement,
avec :
-amélioration des capacités de combat
(distance de détection accrue de 30% et
meilleure précision de l‟armement non
guidé) ;
-amélioration du système de navigation ;
-nouvelle suite avionique ;
-adaptation aux standards du trafic
aérien civil.
A la chute de l‟URSS, le pays alignait 74
Su-27. Hormis les avions utilisés dans
les académies militaires, 39 appareils ont
été mis à disposition du 831e escadron
de chasse (Mirgorod), 14 au sein du 62e
escadron de chasse (belbek), 14-16 à
disposition du 100e escadron de chasse
(Novofedorovka), et 2-3 dans le 8e
escadron de chasse.
Le pays a progressivement vendu 9
appareils (1 à l‟Angleterre, 3 à l‟Ethiopie,
2 à l‟Erythrée, 1 à la Chine, 2 aux Etats
Unis).
Selon des sources officielles, l‟armée de Deux modèles biplaces d‟entraînement
l‟Air ukrainienne souhaite disposer de 36 ont également été perdus dans des
chasseurs opérationnels.

Brazil Air Force to
Receive Upgraded F-5

The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) is set to
receive two upgraded F-5F Tiger II
aircraft in November 2016. Brazil
originally purchased 11 of the aircraft
from Jordan in 2007 to supplement its
own fleet of F-5s. Brazil is estimated
to operate 57 F-5s in total. The aircraft
are planned to be upgraded to keep
them in service through at least 2020.
The upgrades, dubbed F-5EM and F5FM, include the Grifo F-BR radar,
HOTAS
cockpit
controls,
three
multifunction
displays,
additional
weapons capabilities, a radar warning
receiver,
and
an
electronic
countermeasures suite.
The F-5s without air-to-air refueling
probes were to be fitted with these.
With the economy and state budget in
trouble in Brazil, the upgrades will be
much more modest than originally
planned. At one time, all 11 aircraft
acquired from Jordan were to be
upgraded to the F-5EM…

Rheinmetall is to equip Gripen NG
fighter aircraft with the BK27
automatic cannon featuring a new
linkless ammunition feeding system,
under a contract announced by the
company on 1 March. The contract,
awarded to Rheinmetall by Saab, will
see 88 Gripen aircraft for Brazil and
Sweden equipped with the Mauser
27mm revolver cannon.
Delivery will take place during the
2017-2025
timeframe,
and
Rheinmetall will provide service
support and spare parts. The linked
ammunition-feeding version of the gas
operated revolver cannon serves as
the standard weapon in the multi-role
Tornado,
while
the
Eurofighter
features the linkless version.
Some 3,500 systems have been
manufactured
to
date,
and
Rheinmetall
also
offers
the
accompanying ammunition for the
weapon system...
