(a) "C ouncil” ireans the Council o f th e Iroquois o f S t . R egis Band o f In d ian s; and
(b) "Reserve" means the Akwesasne S t . R egis Indian R eserve.

That these re g u la tio n s ap ply to a l l ro a d s, s t r e e t s , la n e s o r o th e r p la ce s
open to th e p u b lic fo r the passage o f v e h ic le s .

No v e h ic le s h a ll be operated a t a ra te o f speed in excess o f 30 T h ir t y m iles an hour
w ith in the R eserve.

Notwithstanding the p ro v isio n s o f S e ctio n 2 o f t h is by-law no v e h ic le s h a l l be operated
a t a r a te o f speed in excess o f 20 twenty m iles an hour w ith in any sch o o l zone in the
Reserve designated and marked as such b y the C o u n cil, and no v e h ic le may pass a sch ool
bus when stopped.

"V e h icle s" means any wagon, c a r t , m otor-car, m otor-truck, t r a i l e r , m o to r-c y cle ,
tr a c tio n en gin e, t r a c t o r , road-making machinery or oth er conveyance th a t i s d riv e n ,
p ro p elle d o r drawn by any kind o f power.

The d r iv e r o f any v e h ic le s h a ll b rin g such v e h ic le to a f u l l sto p when ordered by an
Indian Constable o r an R .C .K .P . Constable authorized by the Akwesasne Indian Band
C ouncil to en fo rce t h e s e ,r e g u la t io n s , and s h a ll obey a l l d ir e c t io n s is su e d b y such
authorized person in re s p e ct o f the ro u tin g o r co n tro l o f t r a f f i c , i n c l uding the
parking o f v e h ic le s .

No v e h ic le in a dangerous or unsafe con d ition s h a ll be operated on any road w ith in
the Reserve o f Akwesasne ( S t . R e g is ) .

Indian Reserve overtakes o r meets an autobus engaged in the tra n s p o rta tio n o f
c h ild re n , which i s s ta tio n a r y to take on o r discharge c h ild r e n , whether such
autobus i s proceeding in the same d ir e c t io n as the motor v e h ic le o r nob, th e
d r iv e r o f such motor v e h ic le s h a ll come to a f u l l sto p a t l e a s t te n f e e t from
the re a r o r fro n t o f such autobus, and s h a ll not pass or d r iv e beyond any p a rt
o f such autobus, u n t i l a l l ch ild ren have boarded the autobus o r have l e f t i t
and reached the sid e o f the road and such autobus has a g a in been o u t in to motion.
