Position des Etats concernés Etats-Unis « "I don't have any confirmation of that," State Department spokesman Mark Toner told reporters on Monday when asked about Gilani's statement about the killing of a key plotter of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks in a US drone strike in Pakistan. When told that the US defence department was also not confirming, Toner said he was aware of press reports from Pakistan but repeated: "I would just reiterate we have no confirmation." "I both have no comment and no way of confirming his death," he added in response to persistent questioning. Asked what Pakistan had told US officially or non-officially about Kashmiri's death, Toner said: "I'm not going to get in the substance of those discussions." Earlier Pentagon spokesman Col Dave Lapan simply told reporters: "No confirmation." "The department of defence has no confirmation," he said when asked about Gilani's reported statement that the US has confirmed the death of Kashmiri.6» Pakistan « Possibly ending speculation over the death of al-Qaida linked dreaded terrorist Ilyas Kashmiri, Pakistan PM Yousaf Raza Gilani on Sunday said the US has confirmed his killing. 1 US strike 'kills' key Pakistan militant Ilyas Kashmiri, BBC News, June 4, 2011, consulté le 10 juin 2011 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-south-asia-13653324 2 Alex RODRIGUEZ and Zulfiqar A LI, Pakistani Al Qaeda leader killed in U.S. strike, Los Angeles Times, September 18, 2009, consulté le 10 juin 2011 http://articles.latimes.com/2009/sep/18/world/fg-pakistan-drone18 3 Eli LAKE, ‘Dead’ al Qaeda terrorist surfaces for media, The Washington Times, October 15, 2009, consulté le 10 juin 2011 http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/oct/15/dead-terrorist-surfaces-for-media/?feat=article_top10_read 4 U.S., Pakistan authorities dispute militant's death, Reuters, June 6, 2011, consulté le 10 juin 2011 http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/06/07/us-pakistan-kashmiri-usa-idUSTRE75602I20110607 5 Ilyas Kashmiri killed in US drone strike, confirms HuJI, The times of India, June 4, 2011, consulté le 10 juin 2011 http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2011-06-04/pakistan/29620661_1_drone-strike-tribal-region-ilyaskashmiri 6 US declines to confirm Ilyas Kashmiri's killing, The Economic Times, June 7, 2011, consulté le 10 juin 2011 http://articles.economictimes.indiatimes.com/2011-06-07/news/29629860_1_drone-strike-confirmation-ilyaskashmiri Dossier assassinats ciblés, Bruxelles, Centre de droit international de l’Université Libre de Bruxelles, 2011, disponible sur http://assassinatscibles.wordpress.com/ CENTRE DE DROIT INTERNATIONAL – UNIVERSITÉ LIBRE DE BRUXELLES "As far as the death of Ilyas Kashmiri is concerned, America has confirmed that his death occurred on Friday," Gilani told a news conference in Quetta. 7» 7 Kashmiri dead or alive?
