Press release Crédit Agricole S.A. to acquire the fund administration and custody and private banking businesses of Achmea in Luxembourg Paris, 14 September 2005 Crédit Agricole S.A. will acquire the fund administration and custody and private banking businesses of Achmea in Luxembourg, with effect from 31 October 2005, under the terms of an agreement signed on 30 June 2005. At present, Achmea provides these services through Banque Colbert (Luxembourg) S.A. The fund administration and custody activity will be taken over by Crédit Agricole Investor Services Bank Luxembourg. Further to an agreement signed on 30 June 2005 between Crédit Agricole S.A. and Caisse Nationale des Caisses d’Epargne, Crédit Agricole Investor Services Bank Luxembourg is now part of Crédit Agricole Caisse d’Epargne Investor Services (CACEIS). It will shortly be renamed CACEIS Bank Luxembourg. Crédit Agricole Luxembourg (Private Bank) will take over the private banking business, while Crédit Agricole Luxembourg Conseil will acquire two other activities: financial engineering and domiciliation. In all, this operation affects 53 people, who will be re-assigned to other Crédit Agricole entities in Luxembourg. The deal will allow Achmea to focus on its insurance business. For Crédit Agricole S.A., the acquisition is totally consistent with its international growth strategy.
