Paris Restaurants Le Flore En L`Ile
Paris Restaurants Le Flore en L’Ile 42, Quai D'Orleans (at Rue de Jean du Bellay on the Ile St. Louis) 75004 Paris Phone: 01 43 29 88 27 Metro: Cite or Pont Marie (no metro stop on this island so you’ll need to cross from the Pont Marie stop on the right bank or the Cite stop on the Ile de la Cite) Website: http://www.lefloreenlile.com/ Walk-in for lunch or dinner. Great spot on the Ile St. Louis. Take a window table if one is available for views of the Ile de la Cite – including the back of Notre Dame. Good French onion soup, and a dish called Ravioles de Royan – tiny leek and cheese filled raviolis in a chive and cream sauce. Bertillon ice cream served both in the café and also at a take-away window outside. Good breakfast spot as well, and the omelettes are available all day. Le Deux Magots 6, Place St. Germain (at corner of Rue de Rennes) 75006 Paris Phone: 01 42 60 27 92 Metro: St. Germain des Pres Website: http://www.lesdeuxmagots.fr/en/ambiances.php#/ambiances.php Good salads and light entrees. In the warm months there is a terrace set up across from the St. Germain church and it is great for people watching. Or get a table right on the sidewalk. It's in the heart of St. Germain, so it's very lively. Le Grand Bistro Breteuil 3, place de Breteuil 75007 Paris Phone: 01 45 67 07 27 Metro: Duroc or Segur Website: http://www.bistrocie.fr/anglais/index.php?page=breteuil&scat=1 Excellent prix fixe restaurant. 3 courses plus a kir royale to welcome you and a half bottle of wine person for 44 euros (as of January 2014). Great rack of lamb and duck breast. Menu offers many choices for your entrée (appetizer) plat (main course) and dessert. For dessert the profiteroles (pastry puffs filled with vanilla ice cream) are served to you then drenched with hot dark chocolate sauce. The other desserts are great, too, including a warm apple galette that is then set aflame with Calvados. Café du Marche 38, rue Cler, (at rue de Champs) 75007 Paris Phone: 01 47 05 51 27 Metro: Ecole Militaire Great place for lunch especially after exploring the rue Cler – a market and specialty food shop street. Good salads and daily specials. L'Alsace (as of February 2014 currently under renovation, no reopening date) 39, Avenue des Champs Elysees 75008 Paris Phone: 01-53-93-97-00 Metro: Franklin Roosevelt Website: www.restaurantalsace.com Great oysters and the best choucroute I've ever had. Also good salmon and duck dishes. A really fun place at night - very lively. Reservation recommended Bistro 7eme 56, avenue de Latour Maubourg 75007 Paris Phone: 01 45 51 93 08 Metro: Latour Maubourg Website: http://www.bistrotdu7.com/FR/PAGE_Accueil.awp Very good salmon and duck confit It is a great value for the quality of food. Generous authentic French cooking. 4 courses, plus a ½ bottle of wine per person for 30 euro. This is in the 16th arrondisement in an area called the village of Auteuil. Arrive a little early to explore this charming area. Le Coupe Chou #9 & 11, rue Lanneau 75005 Paris 01 46 33 68 69 Metro: Maubert Mutualite Website: www.lecoupechou.com Reservations recommended Charming restaurant, good food. Several rooms, some with fireplace. Feels like you’re eating in an old elegant house. Several prix fixe options as well as a la carte La Gare Chaussée de la Muette 75016 Paris, 01 42 15 15 31 Metro: La Muette Website: http://restaurantlagare.com/accueil-actualites?gclid=CJit65CR3rwCFUT3wgodRCYABw Reservations recommended Housed in an old station that used to serve the “Petite Ceinture” railway in Paris. Dine in the covered platform area, or on the terrace where the rails lead out from the boarding area. A great example of adaptive reuse, and good food as well. The lunchtime prix fixe menu is a food bargain – dinner is pricier.
