ACCIDENT MORTEL DE
MOTONEIGE À QUYON
FATAL SNOWMOBILE ACCIDENT IN
QUYON
Lundi, vers 18 h 00, dans la municipalité de
Pontiac, secteur Quyon, est survenu un
accident de motoneige mortel. L’accident
frontal entre deux (2) motoneiges a fait un
mort et est survenu sur la rivière des
Outaouais, sur un sentier non balisé.
There was a fatal snowmobile accident on
Monday, at approximately 18:00 hrs, in the
Municipality of Pontiac, Quyon sector. The
head-on collision, which resulted in the
death of one individual, involved two (2)
snowmobiles and occurred on the Ottawa
River, on an unmarked trail.
Simon Horn, 44 ans de Woodlawn, en Simon Horn, 44 years old from Woodlawn,
Ontario, est décédé peu de temps après in Ontario, died shortly after the accident.
He was alone on his snowmobile.

Pour ce qui est de l’autre motoneigiste, un
homme de 45 ans de Quyon, celui-ci fut
blessé sérieusement au haut du corps,
mais on ne craint pas pour sa vie. Il fut
transporté au centre hospitalier de Hull.
The other snowmobiler involved, a 45 year
old man from Quyon, suffered serious
injuries to the upper body, but these injuries
are not considered life threatening. He was
transported to the Hull Hospital.
Jusqu’à présent, l’enquête démontre que
c’est la motoneige de la victime qui aurait
bifurqué pour aller frapper de plein fouet
l’autre motoneige. La vitesse pourrait être
en cause et une autopsie sera pratiquée
sur le corps de la victime.
So far, the investigation revealed that the
victim’s snowmobile would have swerved
into the passage of the other vehicle.
Speed could be a factor in this accident. An
autopsy will be performed on the victim’s
body.
