OLIVER BEER
Né en 1985 au Royaume Uni, Oliver Beer a étudié la composition et est diplômé de la Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art de l’Université
d’Oxford. Sa personnalité et son parcours l’ont amené à s’intéresser très tôt à la relation qui existe entre le son et l’espace, en particulier à travers la
voix et l’architecture. Ses recherches se traduisent par des performances fascinantes auxquelles le spectateur participe par sa seule présence,
ainsi que des sculptures et des vidéos qui incarnent l’expression plastique, littérale ou métaphorique de cette subtile relation et de l’expérience
qu’en fait le corps humain. Oliver Beer crée des installations, films et sculptures subtiles et diverses dont l’inspiration semble parfois biographique,
mais dans lesquelles il convoque des considérations à la fois universelles et particulières reposant sur l’émotion et la perception. L’œuvre d’Oliver
Beer a déjà fait l’objet de nombreuses projections et d’expositions personnelles et de groupes dont notamment à l’Ikon Gallery de Birmingham, au
Palais de Tokyo, à la Fondation Vuitton et au Centre Pompidou à Paris, au Musée d'art contemporain de Lyon, au Modern Art d’Oxford, au WIELS
de Bruxelles, à la Ménagerie de Verre à Paris et au Hebbel Theater de Berlin ou encore à l’ICA de Londres. Oliver Beer a été accueilli en résidence
notamment par le Palais de Tokyo, la Watermill Foundation et la Fondation Hermès.
