Anleitung Vinyl- und Leder-Reparatursatz (Art-Nr. 490707)
Lesen Sie diese Anleitung gründlich bevor Sie mit den Arbeiten beginnen.
Machen sie eine Probe an den beiliegenden Vinylmuster bevor Sie Ihre Reparatur durchführen!
1. Reinigen der beschädigten Stelle
Verwenden Sie einen starken Haushaltsreiniger um Schmutz und Verunreinigungen zu entfernen.
Stellen Sie sicher, dass der Bereich völlig abgetrocknet ist bevor Sie mit den Arbeiten fortfahren.
Entfernen Sie loses und beschädigtes Material der Oberfläche vorsichtig mit einer Klinge oder
einem Messer.
2. Einsetzen von Unterbaugewebe
Hinweis: Sehr kleine (weniger als 6,5mm große) Schnitte, Brandbeschädigungen und Löcher
benötigen kein Unterbaugewebe. Wenn der beschädigte Bereich große Vertiefungen hat, füllen
Sie diese zunächst mit Baumwollstoff auf bis eine ebene Fläche gegeben ist und legen Sie erst
dann etwas von dem mitgelieferten Unterbaugewebe auf.
Schneiden Sie das beiliegende Unterbaugewebe etwas größer als für die beschädigte Fläche
notwendig aus. Verwenden Sie den kleinen Spatel um das Gewebe in und unter die beschädigte
Stelle zu bringen um eine solide Basis für die folgende Reparatur zu haben.
3. Wählen des Strukturbogen
Diesem Kit liegen drei Strukturmuster bei: fein, mittel und grob.
Wählen Sie die Struktur, die Ihrem beschädigten Material am nächsten kommt und kennzeichnen
Sie den Bogen in der Mitte mit einem „X“
4. Verfüllen der beschädigten Stelle
Öffnen Sie die Klebstoff/Füller Tube mit der Rückseite der Kappe. Pressen Sie kleine Mengen in
die beschädigte Stelle, verwenden Sie dazu den Spatel und füllen Sie die Stelle glatt auf.
Hinweis: Bei Rissen fixieren Sie das Unterbaugewebe ebenfalls von der Unterseite mit etwas
Klebstoff/Füller am Obermaterial.
Lassen sie den Füller etwa 4 Stunden trocken. In dieser Zeit schrumpft der Füller geringfügig
und hinterlässt Platz um anschließend die farbige Reparaturmasse aufzubringen.
5. Farbton auswählen/mischen
Wählen Sie aus den sieben beiliegenden Farbtönen oder mischen Sie mit Hilfe der beiliegenden
Farbtabelle den benötigten Farbton.
6. Auftragen der farbigen Reparaturmasse
Wenn der Füller getrocknet ist, kann die farbige Reparaturmasse mit Hilfe des Spatel gründlich
aufgetragen werden.
Hinweis: Tragen Sie mit dem Spatel auch eine dünne Schicht über die Ränder der beschädigten
Stelle auf das intakte Material auf und achten sie auf eine glatte Oberfläche.
Überfüllen sie den Bereich nicht!
Wenn die Arbeiten korrekt ausgeführt sind haben Sie nun eine glatte Oberfläche über die Ränder
der Beschädigung hinaus. Als nächsten Schritt legen Sie nun das ausgewählte Strukturmuster
mit dem „X“ genau in der Mitte der beschädigten Stelle auf.
7. Wärmehärtung der Reparatur
Der wichtigste Schritt im Reparaturvorgang.
Hinweis: Eine Wärmequelle wird benötigt. Es wird die Verwendung eine Bügeleisens empfohlen.
Wenn Sie ein Bügeleisen verwenden, heizen Sie es auf der höchsten Einstellung vor. Das
Werkzeug zur Wärmeübertragung ist der Holzgriff mit der kleinen runden Scheibe am Ende.
Zum Aufheizen des Wärmeübertragungswerkzeugs halten sie die Metallscheibe etwa 2-3
Minuten gegen das heiße Bügeleisen. Dann pressen Sie das Werkzeug direkt auf das „X“ des
Strukturbogens. Bewegen Sie das Werkzeug etwa eine Minute schnell kreisförmig über den
Bogen. Um ein gutes Resultat zu erhalten stellen Sie sicher das alle Bereiche der reparierten
Stelle richtig erhitzt wurden.

Lassen Sie das heisse Werkzeug niemals in direkten Kontakt mit dem Vinyl oder Leder kommen!
Wenn die zu reparierende Stelle größer ist erhitzen Sie das Werkzeug erneut und wiederholen
den Vorgang bis alle Bereiche ausreichend Hitze behandelt sind. Nach Beendigung der
Hitzebehandlung lassen Sie den Strukturbogen etwa 1-2 Minuten abkühlen. Ziehen sie ihn dann
langsam und vorsichtig von der Oberfläche ab und begutachten die Reparaturstelle. Wenn Sie
Beschädigungen oder kleine Löcher bemerken füllen Sie diese nochmals mit Reparaturmasse
und wiederholen Sie diesen Arbeitsschritt.
Setzen Sie den Reparaturkit bei Lagerung niemals Temperaturen über 30°C aus.

Manual Guide for Vinyl & Leather repair kit (Part no. 490707)
Read all instructions before using the repair kit. Always make a practice repair repair on vinyl
sample (in kit) before makind an actual repair.
1. Clean the damaged area
Use a strong hausehold cleaner to remove any dirt or grime. Make sure area is dry before
starting the repair work. Trim off frayed, excess threads, or charred material
(if burn damage) with a razor or knife.
2. Insert cloth backing fabric
NOTE: Very small (less than 1/4 inch) cuts, bums or holes do not require a cloth backing fabric.
If damaged area has deep depression, fill depression with plain
cotton material to even surface before using backing fabric. Cut enclosed thin fabric cloth
slightly larger than the damage. Use the spatula to insert it into and under the damage to
provide support for the repair.
3. Select grain paper
Enclosed are three (3) grain patterns: fine, coarse and medium. Select the grain paper closest to
that of your damaged vinyl. On the top center of the grain paper draw an "X".
4. Fill in damage
Pierce the seal on the Adhesive and Filler tube using the back of the cap. Squeeze out small
amounts into damaged area using spatula unlil surface is Ievel.
NOTE: For rips or tears, apply adhesive under both edges and center to hold backing fabric in
place. Allow 4 hours to dry. The adhesive will shrink slightly when dry, leaving a void which is
then filled m wrth colored repair compound.

5. Matching the color
Choose from seven (7) repair cup colors or intermix colors by mixing small amounts of
color using spatula until right shade is achieved. Refer to color-matching chart included for
suggestions.
NOTE: White will lighten colors; yellow will brighten colors; black and dark brown will darken
colors; browns can be made from red as the base, adding black and yellow.

6. Applying the color repair compound
Once the adhesive is dry, use the spatula to evenly apply the repair compound into the
damaged area.
NOTE: For holes or large damages, use the spatula to cover over the adhesive with the repair
compound. Using the spatula very slightly overlap the repair compound onto the undamaged
vinyl or leather. Feather the edges to make the surface smooth and even DO NOT OVERFILL
THE DAMAGED AREA. When filled properly it will be smooth across the damaged area, slightly
overlapping onto the undamaged vinyl or leather. Next, place the grain paper directly onto the
wet repair compound with the "X" positioned in the center of damage.

7. Heat curing the repair
The most important step in the repair process.
NOTE: Heating element required. Home iron recommended. If using iron, preheat to the highest
setting for 3-5 minutes. The heat transfer tool is the wooden dowel with the round metal tip in
the kit. To heat the transfer tool, hold the wooden dowel and place the metal tip against the
hot iron for 2-3 minutes. IMMEDIATELY place the hot metal tip directly onto the "X" marking
on the grain paper. Rotate the heat tool in a rapid circular motion over the "X" for 1 minute. To
properly cure, heat must be applied over grain paper on each section of repair compound.
NEVER LET IRON OR HEAT TRANSFER TOOL DIRECTLY TOUCH THE VINYL OR LEATHER !
If repair is large, reheat tool and repeat procedure as needed. Allow approximately
1-2 minutes for grain paper to cool. Once cooled, slowly pee ! Off grain paper and examine the
repair. If damaged area is tacky, repeat step 7. If there are any pinholes or spots that were not
filled in properly, apply small additional amounts of repair compound into those areas and
repeat step 7.
(Do not store at temperatures above 90°F.)

Mode d'emploi pour kit de réparation cuir et vinyle (Ref. No. 490707)
Avant de commencer les travaux il faut lire attentivement ces instructions et il est également
conseillé de faire un essai sur l'échantillon vinyle joint.
1. Nettoyage de l'endroit abimé
Il faut utiliser un nettoyant ménager puissant pour enlever les saletés et impuretés. Il faut
s'assurer que la partie soit complètement sèche avant de continuer les travaux. Enlever le
matériel abimé prudemment avec une lame ou un couteau.
2. Utilisation de la toile de renforcement
Conseil : il n'est pas nécessaire d'utiliser une toile de renforcement pour les petites incisions
(taille de moins de 6,5 mm), brûlures et trous. Si la partie est abimée en profondeur, alors il
faut mettre un matériel de remplissage en coton jusqu'à ce que la surface soit plane. Ce n'est
qu'après qu'il faut poser la toile de renforcement fournie.
La taille de la toile de renforcement doit être supérieure à la taille de la surface abimée. Utiliser
la petite spatule pour poser la toile de renforcement sur la partie abimée afin d'avoir une bonne
surface de base.
3. Choix de la structure du papier
Trois échantillons de grains de papier sont joints : fin, moyen et grossier.
Il faut choisir la structure qui se rapproche le plus de la partie abimée et marquer un X au
centre de la feuille.
4. Remplissage de la partie abimée
Ouvrir le tube de colle avec le derrière du couvercle. Presser de petites quantités sur la partie
abimée en utilisant pour cela la spatule fournie et remplir la partie jusqu'à ce qu'elle soit lisse.
Conseil : En cas de fissures il faut coller le dessous de la toile de renforcement sur le matériel
supérieur.
Laisser sécher la colle pendant quatre heures. Pendant cette période elle va retrécir légèrement
et par conséquent il y aura suffisamment de place pour y mettre le produit de remplissage.
5. Choix du coloris
Vous pouvez choisir entre 7 coloris différents et les mélanger selon le tableau de couleurs
fourni.
6. Application du produit de remplissage coloré
Lorsque la colle est sèche, on peut appliquer le produit de remplissage coloré avec une spatule.
Conseil : Appliquer également une fine couche sur les bords de la partie abimée. Ensuite il faut
poser l'échantillon avec la croix "X" exactement au centre de la partie abimée.
7. Durcissement à la chaleur
Il s'agit de l'étape la plus importante lors de la réparation.
Conseil : une source de chaleur est nécessaire. Nous recommendons d'utiliser un fer à repasser.
Si vous en utilisez un, il faut le régler au maximum. L'outil de transmission de chaleur a un
manche en bois et une petite rondelle à l'extrémité.
Vous chauffez l'outil de transmission de chaleur en le tenant environ 2 à 3 minutes contre le
fer à repasser chaud. Il faut ensuite appuyer l'outil sur la crox "X" de la feuille et le tourner
pendant une minute en faisant des cercles au dessus de la feuille. Il faut absolument vérifier
que toutes les parties réparées soient suffisamment chaudes afin d'atteindre un bon résultat.
L'OUTIL BRULANT NE DOIT JAMAIS ETRE EN CONTACT AVEC LE CUIR ET LE VINYLE !
Si la partie à réparer est plus grande alors il faut de nouveau chauffer l'outil et répéter
l'opération. Une fois terminée l'opération de chauffage il faut laisser refroidir la feuille de papier
pendant une à deux minutes. Il faut ensuite retirer la feuille et contrôler l'endroit réparé. Si vous
constatez des petits trous ou dégâts, alors il faut mettre du produit de remplissage et répéter
cette opération.
Il ne faut pas exposer le kit de réparation à des températures supérieures à 30°C.
