The company ZF Bouthéon
SA, a subsidiary of the German
group ZF FRIEDRICHSHAFEN
AG, is based in AndrézieuxBouthéon. It employs approximately 600 people, has a turnover of €160 M and manufactures
gearboxes for commercial vehicles up to 32 tonnes in weight.
Our activities include assembly,
logistics and the machining of
certain components including,
cogs, shafts, casings and various
mechanical parts.
The ZF group is the technology
leader in the automotive sector (chassis components, gearboxes, clutches, suspensions,
steering, etc.) and produces the
“Ecomid” range in AndrézieuxBouthéon.
Production has increased sharply over recent years with the
forecast production volume of
gearboxes totalling 50,000 units
for 2011.
We export around 92% of our
production, much of which

goes to Asia (50% of the total
volume) but also to Europe,
Russia, Turkey and Brazil. Our

This expansion has been facilitated by the high quality of the
labour force and know-how
available in the Loire but also
the partnerships that we have
developed with engineering
schools and vocational training organisations. The CAR
Loire also provides an excellent
opportunity for dialogue with
other automotive equipment
manufacturers.
Some €80 M of investments
have been made on the site
over the last ten years and the
company uses subcontractors
according to specialisation or
capacity requirements in order
to satisfy the changing needs
and highly fluctuating demand
inherent to our industry.
