The CapEx estimates can be broken down into three sub-categories: • The patented bubbler system, instrumentation, and tie-in which account for approximately 30% of the CapEx • The engineering design costs which account for approximately 25% of the CapEx • The compression equipment which account for approximately 45% of the CapEx Full capture from a mixed flue gas (shaft drilling and completion; mass transfer system manufacture and instrumentation; flue gas compression; energy recovery equipment (heaters and exchangers); and CO2 product compression. • Estimates for a small system (130 ktons) could exceed 15-20M€. OPEX – Géothermie Although operating costs vary between operations, they typically range from 8.5€/MWh to 15.0€/MWh. For a typical operation (30 GWh/year) this equates to about 350 k€ per year, significantly less than the operating costs for an equivalent gas system (>1.5 M€). The operating costs include the following items: • Consumables (P1) - Electricity and Corrosion inhibitor costs : typically 60% of operating costs • Monitoring and small maintenance (P2) : typically 12% of operating costs • Heavy duty workover costs (P3) – including submersible pump replacement : typically 28% of operating costs OPEX – CO2 Operating costs for the injection system include electricity expense for the drive motor and minor fees for royalties and licenses. The total is about 1.95 M€ for a system sized to inject 130 ktons CO2. Assumptions used to calculate OpEX for CO2 injection are listed below: • Electricity requirement of 97 kWh/t CO2 for compression of CO2 to 1000 psi • Electricity cost of 0,147 €/kWh The OpEx estimates can be broken down into three sub-categories: • Royalties and licenses which account for approximately 5% of the OpEx • The energy cost for compression which account for approximately 95% of the OpEx
