How to connect to UTT’s Wireless network

You are not allowed
to use peer to peer softwares as bit torrent, emule ans so on. Skype is forbidden too, due
to a french governement decision.
To connect, you need Windows XP SP1 or more, Windows Vista SP1 or more, MAC OS X
or an OS of your choice which is able to connect to a 802.11i (WPA2 enterprise) wireless
network.
You have to use you UTT’s credentials (login/password).
If you have some problems :

Windows XP SP3
First of all, you need Windows XP SP3 (or with SP2 it is almost the same settings)
Right-click the network connection icon in the notification area and choose View
available wireless networks :
Then click Change advanced settings on the following window :

In the Wireless Networks Tab, add a new network (Clicking on Add ...) :
Set the SSID to UTTetudiants and set your Wireless network key (as above or you can
try WPA2+TKIP, or WPA+TKIP or WPA+AES) :
BE CAREFUL, Network name is CASE SENSITIVE !!!

On the Authentication Tab, choose Protected EAP (PEAP) and select the others
settings as above :
Then click Properties and select (or unselect) the settings as above :
Then Click Configure and set as above :

Then click OK as many time as needed to close all windows.
A bubble will appear in the notification area :
Click on the bubble.
Then enter your credentials (login/password same as mail, let Logon domain empty) :
Congratulations, you are connected to UTTetudiants.

Windows Vista (SP1)
SP1 is mandatory, without it you can’t connect. You can download it in the Download
section at the end of this document.
Click on the network icon in the notification area and click on Connect to a network :

Choose Manually connect to a Wireless network and click Next :
Type UTTetudiants as Network name. For Security and Encryption type, you can choose
WPA – Entreprise or WPA2 – Enterprise, AES or TKIP.
Click Next.

Now, Change connection settings and select the Security tab :
Click on Settings …

Uncheck Validate server certificate and click on Configure …
Uncheck the checkbox :

Click on the bubble :
Type your UTT’s login/password. Let Logon domain empty.
Choose Public location.

Click on Close, you are connected.

Click on UTTetudiants :
Type your UTT’s login/password. Let 802.1X in Automatic. Then click on OK.
Click on Show Certificate :

Select Always trust *.utt.fr then click on Continue :
Type your Name and Password (MAC’s account, it is different from your UTT’s account)
Click OK.
You are connected.
