REALISATION D’UN FLIP BOOK
I. Préambule
Vous disposez de fichiers sources de qualité pour la réalisation de votre flip book.
Il est utile de connaître quelques éléments techniques pour la réalisation de ce genre de
composants à inclure dans un site et d’avoir un niveau Administrateur sur votre site.
II. Méthode avec un composant Joomla
Vos fichiers sources sont au format JPG ou SWF.
Vous pouvez utiliser le composant FlippingBook Joomla extension :

Installation à réaliser via l’administrator comme un composant classique.
Pas de module ou de plug-in à activer.

1. Installation.
The standard installation and deinstallation of the component is covered in the official
documentation available from joomla.org
1.1. To install the component call up the Joomla! administration interface.
1.2. Go to the component installation tab (Extensions -> Install / Uninstall).
1.3. Select the component file to be uploaded from your computer. Click "Upload File & Install"
1.4. Make sure no errors are reported during installation.
If there are errors please check that the following folders are accessible for writing and
execution:
/media/
/components/
/administrator/components/
/images/
1.5. Installation is complete. The component is available from the main menu of the
administration panel (Components -> FlippingBook).
2. Uploading Book Files.
2.1. Prepare the files containing the book pages. These can only be JPG images or SWF
animations.
• Please use only Latin letters or numbers in the file names.
• No special symbols are allowed.
• We recommend creating meaningful filenames – e.g. MyBook_page01.jpg
2.2. Go to the file upload page (Components -> FlippingBook -> Manage Files).
2.3. Select the file for uploading from your computer and click "Save" in the upper panel.
2.4. Repeat the previous step for all the files to be uploaded to the server or use FTP access for
uploading files. All the book files are stored in /images/flippingbook/
3. Creating the Book.
3.1. Go to the Book Manager tab (Components -> FlippingBook -> Manage Books).
3.2. Click "New" in the upper panel.
3.3. Enter the book name and description, if necessary.
3.4. Fill in other book parameters - their descriptions are given on the same page.
3.5. Click "Save" from the upper panel. A message will appear if the fields are not filled out
properly.
4. Adding Pages to the Book.
4.1. Go to the Page Manager (Components -> FlippingBook -> Manage Pages).
4.2. Click "New" in the upper panel.
4.3. Select the page file and the book to which the page is to be added.
4.4. Click "Save" in the upper panel.
4.5. Repeat the above steps for all the book pages.
4.6. Check the page numbers. If they are wrong use the Up and Down arrows to set them
properly.

5.1. Go to the Menu Editor (Menus -> target menu where you want the book reference to
appear).
5.2. Click "New" in the upper panel.
5.3. Click "FlippingBook".
5.4. Click "Blog Category Layout ".
5.5. Select a category from the drop down list and click "Save".
6. Displaying a Specific Book: Binding to a Menu Item.
6.1. Go to the Menu Editor (Menus -> target menu where you want the book reference to
appear).
6.2. Click "New" in the upper panel.
6.3. Click "FlippingBook".
6.4. Click "Standard Book Layout ".
6.5. Select your book from the drop down list and click "Save".
Avantages :
Cout assez faible par site.
Facilité de mise en œuvre
Effets sur pages (feuilletage…)
Configuration du produit (menu...)
Intégration complète avec fichiers sur serveurs personnel.
Possibilité de gérer les droits d’accès via le menu / l’article…
Inconvénients :
Ne prend pas en charge un fichier PDF, il faut d’abord le transformer en SWF
Les pages du FlipBook doivent être créées une par une, le processus peut être long.
Attention aux déformations des photos

III. Méthode avec un fournisseur externe ISSUU + plug in joomla

Le plug-in n’est pas indispensable, il semble inclus dans la version 1.5.9 de Joomla.
Il faut :
1. créer un compte sur le site http://issuu.com
2. charger son PDF
3. attendre la transformation
4. le fichier résultat est stocké sur le serveur de ISSUU, dans votre espace personnel.
5. le code technique à inclure dans l’article pour afficher le fichier FlipBook est présenté dans
votre espace, avec quelques éléments de configuration
Avantages :
Accepte un PDF en entrée.
Rapide.
Gratuit si bannière publicitaire
Inconvénients :
Très important : Fichier sur le serveur de ISSUU, vous ne maitrisez pas la confidentialité, la
disponibilité…
