A l'occasion de l'exposition Keith Haring au Musée d'Art Moderne et au 104, colette présente Keith Haring & Fashion,
une exposition conçue par Maripol, artiste française installée depuis 30 ans à New York, considérée comme une icône vivante,
amie de Madonna et Warhol, photographe-voyageuse, qui a largement influencé et marqué la scène arty, fashion et musique de
son temps. Elle nous offre un regard inédit sur la relation de l’artiste disparu avec la mode, de son vivant ou de manière posthume.
Keith Haring vision was to have his art accessible and share it with people. From his New York Pop Shop to the streets of Tokyo,
you would encounter many kids wearing his tshirts. His early pins were given away at his openings and his «Parties of Life».
Keith loved music and dance and his friends albums covers were carefully crafted. He painted bodies, murals, entire street blocks,
children hospitals, etc. If he could have painted our planet, he would have done it. He had that kind of energy and he had the love,
love of people, all people all over the world. He is still very much missed.

Maripol
During the early 80s New York's Lower East Side was pulsating with creative activity. Marking their mark downtown was Madonna,
Jean-Michel Basquiat, Grace Jones, Keith Haring, Kenny Scharf, Patti Astor, among many others. Maripol was part of a collective of
artists, graffiti writers, street dancers, and performers who all thrived together in explosive eccentricity. Jewelry designer, art
director, and producer Maripol relentlessly documented the early 80s scene through the lens of her instant Polaroid SX-70.
Born in France, Maripol moved to New York in 1976. She was the founder of Maripolitan Popular Objects Ltd., a fashion accessories
company that also designed merchandising for Madonna's "Like a Virgin" tour. Maripol has art directed films by Marcus Nispel and
Abel Ferrara; and music videos for Cher, D'Angelo, Elton John, and Luther Vandross. Maripol has produced films including Downtown
81, which she also art directed, Just an American Boy by Amos Poe, and Dated by Edo Bertoglio.
She has been published in The New York Times Magazine, WWD, Time Out New York, ELLE, and i-D.
