Baron Rouge, véritable machine à danser, arrive avec son premier EP 6 titres.
Le quatuor vous livre ses premiers morceaux aux accents électro, rock et pop.
Formé à l’automne 2012 dans le 95, Baron Rouge délivre une musique terriblement
puissante et dansante. Elevé au beat'n'rock anglais et à l'électro à la française,
Baron Rouge n'en garde que la substance énergique avec une étonnante efficacité.
Batterie puissante boostée aux stéroïdes, guitare crunchy et machine/effets gérée en
direct live, il ne fait aucun doute que Baron Rouge est un groupe de scène né pour
faire lever les têtes.
Avec ce premier EP, Baron Rouge compose une palette de 6 titres dynamiques. Les
arrangements électro posés sur une rythmique rock laissent la part belle aux lignes
de chant mélodiques. Le dancefloor (Summer End) côtoie des titres enflammés aux
accents rock (Funky Paradise, Wild Road, Holy Clock) ou plus pop (Bikini, Southeast
XY).
Difficile de lui attribuer une étiquette définitive tant la diversité des membres qui
compose le groupe lui procure une singularité qui lui est propre. Réunis par la même
envie de produire une musique qui synthétise leurs parcours respectifs confirmés par
la scène ou le studio (dub, rock ou électro), les quatre musiciens en ont gardés le
meilleur.

Que dire de cette nouvelle formation, qui depuis l’automne 2012 a travaillé d’arrache pied pour sortir leur 1er EP sous le nom de BARON

Ce son n'est pas ce que l'on peut appeler du gros rock qui tâche (n'en déplaise aux gros bourins qui suivent la page), mais plutôt un beau
montage éléctro-pop-rock aux accents funky, trés bien menné par un quatuor tout jeune d'à peine un an!!

Well that seems to be a suitably accurate title for this release
by French band Baron Rouge. The quartet got together late
last year with the mission of fusing together the worlds of
rock, electronica and pop. Which is basically what half the
world is doing, because the decline in musical tribes means
that bands who mix genres together generally have a fighting
chance. Not all of these bands sound the same of course,
there can be wild variations. In the case of Baron Rouge you
need not look further than 'Bikini' to see what their particular
take is. They sound very much like a rock band by nature, and
the additions of electronic sounds are there to add depth and
generally enhance the tunes they make. It's a formula they
use right across this EP.
If it's indie or lo-fi sounds that float your boat then you'll have
little joy here. This band have a commercial sound and the
production has a little more lustre than most. It goes a little
too far on tracks like 'Funky Paradise' which is somewhere
between '80s metal and Roxette, so they're treading a fine
line when it comes to credibility, but they can write a good
tune. 'South East X Y' fares better and here you can see where
they're incorporating the pop they mentioned, but again it's
not one for fans of alternative music. If we had to pick a
favourite then the Gary Numan-esque 'Wild Road' might just
about clinch it. This EP might not be to everyone's taste, but
with songs like 'Holy Cloak' you can't say they're not aiming
high.
