THE PROGRAM
Each year, Art Up offers to the collectors and visitors the opportunity to discover a new schedule: unpublished
exhibitions, installations, lectures, performances, events, workshops, many high points in a fair which make it dense
and rich.
THE EXCLUSIVE EXHIBITIONS
2 exhibitions to showcase young artists have been designed and implemented in the heart of the fair:
«Revelation by Art Up» returns for the second consecutive year with a selection of works by young artists
under 30 years selected by the fair committee.
Among many proposals, the selection has focused on five artists all young, all in the making, all represented by the
exhibiting galleries. Belonging to the emerging art scene, they are artists (Etienne Cail), photographs, video artists (Anaïs
Boudot), visual artists, sculptors (Elodie Wysocki), designers (Bilar Bahir), visual (Luke Lebanc) and are from 23 to 30 years.

«A deep and light world »
Stéphane Corréard, the artistic director of the Salon de Montrouge dedicated to the emerging scene, responded
to the white card that was offered to him by Art Up, bringing together 12 artists presented the last 6 years in
Montrouge.
This exhibition features a title which has the form of a semantic illusion, as one speaks of optical illusion. Because it is a
false paradox. Light is not the opposite of profound. Heavy is the opposite of light, superficial is the opposite of deep.
It should therefore be possible to be simultaneously light and profound.
The twelve artists gathered by Stéphane Corréard for this exhibition have this particular form of mind that can enable
them to develop a work over time.
In accordance with this title sham, they rely on a form of light (whether economy of means, delicacy, mischief ...) to
explore the world in depth.

FOCUS ON BERNARD LANGENSTEIN
Three galleries exhibit on a common space an artist of their choice. This year, the GNG gallery, Nicolet gallery and
Castang Art Project gallery decided to honor the work of the photographer Bernard Langenstein on a space they will
share.
Born in 1952, Bernard Langenstein has family links with photography. All along his professional career, he always took
some time to pursue his own personal projects.
With ART PLASTIQUE, we are presented with a series of photographs showcasing the aesthetic culmination of his work,
with plastic-wrapped bales that turn into realistic sculptures.
We invite you to discover his poetic eye on these bales of straw wrapped in plastic! Stand D18.

THE INSTALLATIONS
Environnements Chromointerférents by Carlos Cruz-Diez, 1974
As the geometric abstraction is the main theme of the fair, Art Up had to accommodate a major
contemporary representatives of this movement.
This will be done with Gimpel & Müller gallery who
will present works by the artist Carlos Cruz-Diez
who plays on the ambiguity of the colors which will
appeal to visitors and art lovers. The Venezuelan
artist will also present an installation sponsored
by ERDF Nord-Pas de Calais: Environment
Chromointerférent.
The aim of Environnements Chromointerférents
is to reproduce, through space and motion,
immateriality, transfiguration and color ambiguity.
The projection of «Modules d’événement
chromatique» in continuous motion over people
and objects make them transparent, changing the
shapes and conditions. Visitors become both “actors” and “creators” of an event that evolves over
space and time.
Exposition parrainée par :
When fixing the gaze on the shadows on the walls, the spectator feels like moving in the opposite
direction to that of the colored lines. A dialog is triggered between the changing interferences and
the stillness of the shadows on the wall. Stand B24.
Infinitiy II - Video installation by HeeWon Lee, proposed by Le Fresnoy
Infinity II is an immersive installation with a continuous waterfall conducive to a contemplative mood. This waterfall
with a reverse stream is a virtual image in a real world, the dream of a
nature long gone, from which man drifted away long ago. Both realistic
and supernatural, the visual effect also features a musical creation by
Ulf Langheinrich. The audience forgets its own presence in the space.
People live and act within the projection; they are absorbed by the
screen and get closer to the virtual. This journey to the boundaries
of reality is out of time, at the pace of the stream of water, open to
infinity. Stand C0.
The « Avant-Garedistes »
Halfway between Street art and Monumental art, Jean-Philippe and Véronique Grédigui/Duleu, two artists of the region and sponsored by “Club Gagnants”, set up an original, contemporary and pluralist work, 2 kilometers along the
railways entering the stations in Lille.
On their Art Up! stand, two augmented reality animations invite the visitor to follow a visual trip in the heart of the
project. Stand C1.

THE PRINT ART FAIR
Meeting place of the fair, the PRINT ART FAIR,
fair within the fair dedicated to the technical
art prints presented for the first time in 2010,
attracts many visitors.
All art printing techniques find their place:
lithography, etching, screen printing,
digigraphie, artist books ...
«Engraving is affordable, it is a great way
to become a collector,» says Didier Vesse,
director of the fair.

Proposed by the CIAC (Interpretation Center Art and Culture) - Bourbourg - Corporate Area n°6
These fun workshops are designed for children and families and present the notion of architecture and staging

The bottles will gradually be polished with the effect of erasing all traces of the messages.
The time of four appointments, Elodie Merland is standing in front of an array of schoolgirl, phone in hand, talking
with Gaëlle Le Floch from Dijon. With her white chalk, Elodie transcribes different urban atmospheres.
Come register details, forms, sentenses, matter in the sketchbook Lise Aymard.

visitors.

AROUND ART UP !
LILLE, A CULTURAL CITY
With 228,000 inhabitants, Lille is the bigest city in northern France. In the heart of an urban agglomeration of
87 communes, Lille with its Belgian neighbors composed a cross-border metropolis of 1.9 million inhabitants
in the center of the Euro-region.
It’s privileged location, enhanced by a
very dense transport network, makes
Lille a true gateway to Europe.
European Capital of Culture in 2004, Lille
impressed people by opening up to the
world. It is now a reference in the field of
art and culture.
Lille3000 continues the momentum
by going out to meet new cultures
and contemporary artists in multiple
locations in the city, including many
brownfields rehabilitated since to make
cultural venues open to all. Lille and
its metropolis also feature renowned
museums whose collections are known for their wealth and prestige. Places of excellence, they host major
exhibitions each year with an international reputation.
