ATHERMAFIX (Ready to use) PROPERTIES: ATHERMAFIX is a cold glue. COMPOSITION: ATHERMAFIX consists of liquid sodium silicate, clay and kaolins. USE: ATHERMAFIX is applied at ambient temperature. The glued parts have thermal and mechanical resistance. Depending on available equipment, the glue can be applied with a brush or airless. After 2-­‐3 hours the glued section can be moved. After 24 hours, a resistance to traction of 200N/cm2 is obtained. Cutting and machining: The fire protection boards must be cut and machined by using conventional woodworking equipment. The use of saw blades with teeth processed or hardened in tungsten carbide is recommended. When machining the fire protection board with power tools, the of dust must be extracted and inhalation of dust must be avoided. Screwing with wood screws (VBA) 5 x 70 mm, on between centres 200mm to 100 mm from the edge. Application of ATHERMAFIX refractory glue with a lacquer roller on the internal walls, 150 grams to the m² (after cleaning dust from the surface and mouth pores). Interior reinforcements of 200 mm for sections of more than 500x500 mm between centres 500 mm.
