Hôtel Le Meurice presents, for the sixth consecutive year, the Meurice Prize for contemporary art, and is more committed than ever to defend the young creation. On June 5th, 2013, the Jury of the Meurice Prize for contemporary art met in closed session. Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Patron of the Prize; Montse Aguer, Director of the Centre for Dalinian Studies; Colette Barbier, Director of the Fondation d'entreprise Ricard; Nicolas Bourriaud, Director of l'École nationale supérieure des Beaux-arts de Paris; Philippe Dagen, Writer and Professor at Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne; Jean de Loisy, Director of the Palais de Tokyo; Jennifer Flay, FIAC Director; Marta Gili, Director of the Jeu de Paume; Henri Loyrette, Conseiller d'État; Maryvonne Pinault, Collector; Alexandre Singh, Artist and Winner 2012/2013 and Franka Holtmann, General Manager of Hôtel Le Meurice have therefore shortlisted 6 artists and their gallery (artists by alphabetical order): Bertille Bak - Galerie Xippas 'Exercice cynégétique familial', a gobal installation projet to be exhibited in Geneva, Bielefeld, Ljubljana et Brussels Neil Beloufa - Galerie Balice & Hertling 'Les arabes et les services', a gobal installation projet to be exhibited in New York Jonathan Binet - Galerie Gaudel de Stampa 'Multiplication du tableau / Le plus loin possible', a painting projet to be exhibited in London, Cologne et Los Angeles Chloé Maillet & Louise Hervé - Galerie Marcelle Alix 'Un passage d'eau', a film projet to be exhibited in Mechelen et Vancouver Elsa Sahal - Galerie Claudine Papillon 'Œuvres extérieures en céramique à caractère monumental : Fontaine et Rivières', a sculpture projet to be exhibited in Bruxelles and in the United States Ulla Von Brandenburg - Galerie Art: Concept 'Strasse', a gobal installation projet to be exhibited in Hanover On October 7th, 2013 the Jury will select the winners, the artist and his gallery, who will be awarded severally the Meurice Prize for contemporary art : €10.000 to the artist and €10.000 to his gallery, to realise the project abroad. The exhibition of the 6 finalists will be open to the public from October 8th to 27th, 2013.
