Baritone
Born in Genua, Marco Di Sapia grew up in Rome, where he first studied Acting. He received
a diploma at the conservatory in Vienna in 2005 and at the Universität für Musik und
Darstellende Kunst in Vienna, in the subjects Opera, Lied and Oratorio. He has worked
regularly together with Constantin Zaharia and Heidi Raymond.
His operatic debut took place at Neue Oper in Vienna in the role of Sid in „Albert Herring“,
furthermore he sang a.o. in Britten’s „A Beggar’s Opera“, „Candide“, „Wozzeck“, Boesman’s
„Wintermärchen“ and „Die sieben Todsünden“.
In the operetta repertory he could be heard as successful Pappacoda in „Eine Nacht in
Venedig“ (Kammeroper Vienna), Eisenstein and Falke in a tour through Germany as well as
in „Bettelstudent“ (Bad Hall, Austria), followed by engagements as Graf in „Nozze di
Figaro“ (Salzburg), Figaro in „Barbiere di Siviglia“ (Schloss Kirchstetten, Austria) and as
Papageno at Jugendstiltheater Vienna. He sang, upon invitation of the Austrian Government,
Don Giovanni and Leporello at State Opera Ulan Bator, Mongolia.
Furthermore, he sang Lindorf, Mirakel, Coppelius and Dappertutto in „Hoffmann’s
Tales“ and Faninal in tour through Germany, Boris in D. Schostakovitsch’s only operetta
„Moskau Tscheriomuschki“ at Kammeroper Vienna and Plistene in Salieri’s „La grotta di
Trofonio“ at Konzerthaus Vienna.
After his debut at the Festival Bregenz in Offenbach’s „Blaubart“ Marco Di Sapia was
engaged to Marseille. He made a CD recording of Massenet’s „Le Jongleur de Notre
Dame“ with Roberto Alagna in Montpellier and sang ion Bizet’s „Djamileh“ in Lyon,
Massenet’s „Ariane“ in St. Etienne, Jupiter in „Orphée aux Enfers“ in Montpellier,
„Tosca“ at Opéra de Toulon, Alidoro in Bucharest and Mirko in „Eine Marathon Familie“ at
the Festival Bregenz and in Vienna.

Next engagements brought him to Toulouse, Marseille, Avignon, Nice, Vichy, Bordeaux,
St. Étienne, Montpellier, Toulon, Tours, Reims as Don Profondo in „Viaggio a Reims“, to
Wels as Melot, Montpellier with „Affaire Étrangère“ and „Orpheus in der Unterwelt“,
Klagenfurt for Cherubini’s „Koukourgi“, Montepulciano with „Un giorno di Regno“, St.
Étienne and Rouen as Belcore, to Kufstein as Danilo and to Théâtre des Champs Elysées
Paris for Händel’s „Faramondo“.
Recent contracts till 2017 include Danilo in Kassel and Tokyo, Belcore in Limoges, Don
Profondo in Nurnberg, "Tannhäuser" and "Lohengrin" in Wels, „What next - jetzt“ in
Montpellier, "Cosi fan tutte" in Szombathely, "Tannhäuser" and "Lohengrin" in Wels,
Danilo at Festival in Savonlinna, Schostakowitsch "Nos" at Kammeroper Vienna, Boni,
Papageno and Falke in Vienna, Danilo in Naples and Tokyo, "Staatsoperette" in Vienna and
Bregenz.
He made his debut at Volksoper Vienna in „Fra Diavolo“ beeing engaged back for Danilo,
Papageno, Falke, Dr. Cajus in „Lustige Weiber“, Schaunard, Sweeny Todd and "Convenienze
ed inconvenienze teatrali".
