theCAFon11Oct2016.
2.AlthoughborninEdmonton,hejoinedtheBritishArmyin1976andcompletednearly23
years’servicebeforebeingmadeanofferhecouldn’trefuseandjoiningtheCAFon5Jul1999.
3.IncontrasttohisBritishpostings,whichsawhimonseveraltoursinNorthernIreland,10
yearsofpostingsinGermanyincluding2yearsinBerlin,andanentertaining8monthsinthe
FalklandIslands,Tony’spostingsduringhisCanadianservicehavemostlybeenwithintheNCR.
HewasdeployedtoAfghanistanastheG4ofthetaskforceinKabulin2005andreturnedto
thattheatreonmanyoccasionsafterwardsworkingwithalliedforcescollectingTaliban
ammunition,explosivesandweaponsforresearchpurposes.
4.Tonyhashadtheopportunitytoservewithmanyoutstandingindividualsduringhistimein
theCAF,primarilywithintheammunitionandexplosivescommunity,andisgratefulfortheir
supportandfriendship.
5.Tonywillnotbegivingupworkashehasacceptedapositionwithinthepublicservicein
ordertokeephishorsesinthestyletowhichtheyhavebecomeaccustomed.
6.AninformalDWDwillbeheldinLColHeron’shonourattheFoxandFeatherPub,283Elgin

reprises,dixansenAllemagne(dontdeuxansàBerlin)et8moisamusantsauxîlesFalkland,les
mutationscanadiennesdeTonyontprincipalementeulieudanslarégiondelacapitale
nationale.IlaétédéployéenAfghanistanen2005commeG4delaforceopérationnelleà
Kabul.Ilestparlasuiterevenuàcethéâtreplusieursfois,travaillantavecdesforcesalliéespour
fairelarécoltedesmunitions,explosifsetarmesdesTalibanspourdesfinsderecherche.
4.Tonyaeul’opportunitédeserviravecplusieurspersonnesexceptionnelleslorsdeson
séjourdanslesFAC,principalementdanslacommunautédesmunitionsetexplosifs.Ils’avère
reconnaissantdeleursoutienetamitié.
5.Tonyn’arrêterapasdetravailler.Ilaacceptéunemploidanslafonctionpubliqueafinde
garderseschevauxdanslesconditionsauxquellesilssontdevenushabitués.
