We will have ~two stops before arriving) C.Bourge (06-85-90-15-09), Ph.Schune (06-77-39-76-60 et +41-76487-2078), A.Stocchi 2) Planning of the visits Friday / Vendredi 9 (petit déjeuner / breakfast à 8h00) : 08h45-11h15 : visite du Microcosme en // visite du « Atlas visiting center » 11h20-12h10 : Conférence d’introduction sur le CERN pr é lim ina i 12h15-13h35 : Repas re 13h45-16h00 : visites en // du : Laboratoire de production des GEM et Micromegas (MPGD) Prochain accélérateur linéaire, CTF-3 16h30-18h50 : visite de Alpha, expérience anti-hydrogène Saturday / Samedi 10 (petit déjeuner / breakfast à 7h30, libérer la chambre AVANT la visite) : 08h15 départ du bus du CERN pour CMS (visite à confirmer…) 08h30-10h40 : visite de CMS => chaussures fermées obligatoire ! 11h00-13h00 : Conférences et discussion sur le LHC et les expériences (4 courtes présentations) 13h15 : photo du groupe 13h20-14h30 : suite de la discussion sur le LHC à la cafétéria 15h : Départ du bus pour Orsay (IPN ou si possible gare d’Orsay) Toutes les visites sont obligatoires ! All visits are mandatory! 3) Practical information We will visit experiments located in CERN Meyrin site (and Prevessin site), which is considered to be in Switzerland: one should pay using Swiss-Franc (CHF). At CERN, one could also used Euros (bank notes only / billets de banque uniquement). 3.1) You should always have a valid passport and other valid document(s) with you (UE and non-UE citizen) 3.2) Clothes / shoes: winter clothes, comfortable shoes (sport shoes). We will do as much as possible visits by foot. 3.3) Meals: we will take all meals including breakfast, at CERN cafeteria in main building. Before each meals, you will receive one ticket for: - lunch and dinner for a maximum of 15.00 CHF each (including beverage, cafe, etc.). Salad is very expensive! - breakfast “ “ “ “ “ 7.00 or 8.00 CHF 3.4) Please register a.s.a.p. for your bedroom partner, by replying to Catherine’s e-mail. 3.5) Night buses are schedule for Geneva each hour during Friday’s night (and from Geneva to CERN). See http://www.tpg.ch (3CHF ou 2EUR en pieces !) Please, be QUITE in the CERN’s foyer… You could discuss, read books, play cards, at CERN’s cafeteria up to 1AM. (some persons may have worked a lot: night and/or day shifts…) 4) Final remarks Please don’t bring any alcohol at CERN. CERN policy on alcohol is very strict. This visit may be a unique chance for you to see interesting and important experiments. So please, be on time for ALL visits! Especially for the rendezvous, just after breakfast… Toutes les visites sont obligatoires ! All visits are mandatory!
