Cortot, passing Montmartre’s
oldest house (now the Musée de

house at No 6 (12). Turn right at the
water tower (13) and left to reach
Sacré Coeur (14) for a stunning vista over Paris. Walk past the funicular station and ancient St-Pierre de Montmartre (15) to
touristy Place du Tertre (16). Follow rue Poulbot past the Dali museum (17). Descent the steps from Place du Calvaire (18) into
rue Gabrielle, turning right to reach Place Émile Goudeau (19) and, at No 13, the rebuilt Bateau Lavoir studio where Picasso &
Co. set up their easels. Take the steps and turn left at rue des Abbesses to reach the Guimard-designed metro station at Place des
Abesses (20).
