We are almost fully complete the unit on common irregular verbs in the
present tense (être & avoir). Shortly, a quiz will be administered and a
detailed study guide with sample questions will be provided. Verbs will
continue to be a focus throughout the year. The next formal grammar
unit will be the according/agreeing unit (according masculine and
feminine adjectives to its subject and later the plural forms of
adjectives).

Our science unit on Habitats will conclude after the presentation of the
diorama culminating projects. Students are truly enjoying sharing
stories about various animals and their unusual and diverse
characteristics. Following Science, we will begin our first Social Studies
unit of the year, the provinces and territories of Canada. In this unit, we
will discover each unique province/territory in our country, more about
the geography of Canada (the Great Lakes, capitals of each province,
longitude and latitude, etc.), and more about the history of Canada
(beginning with a quick recap of the early Canadian pioneers).

Our future tense unit is progressing smoothly. Writing assignments will
begin in class shortly.

We have just begun our first Science unit of the year, the Human Body.
Within this unit, we will discuss our vital organs, the digestive
system/track, our respiratory system, the circulatory system, the
nervous system and our bones and muscles. We will also discuss
healthy life choices so that our bodies may function at optimal levels.
