Compte – rendu d’une visite de prospection le vendredi 5 février 2010, rédigé par Mme
Claire MAUGEAIS, enseignante à l’ESBANM :
Grande école un peu à la périphérie de la Ville (transport facile en métro – trois stations su
centre ville), spécialisé dans la photographie et le cinéma. Elle a également un atelier de
multiple (sérigraphie, lithographie, impression numérique), bois, métal et céramique. Ces
quatre ateliers sont modestes et sans réel intérêt par rapport à ce qu’offre l’ESBANM en la
matière. En ce qui concerne les ateliers de photographie et de cinéma, il s’agit d’un
enseignement d’abord très technique avec l’utilisation de matériel très récent et
professionnel. L’enseignement est orienté vers le design avec l’intervention de
professionnels pour la partie théorique. Même s’ils ont le matériel pour le 16 et les 35
millimètres, en cinéma, les étudiants utilisent en majorité le numérique.
Cette école est tout à fait recommandée pour les étudiants qui pratiquent la photographie
et la vidéo, et qui voudraient pouvoir se perfectionner avec l’utilisation de matériels très
professionnels, profiter de la filmothèque et des divers évènements organisés par l’école.
Les enseignants sont prêts à accueillir des étudiants étrangers.
Dortmund est une ville anciennement de hauts fourneaux avec aujourd’hui un taux de
chômage assez élevé. Elle est située au bout de la RUHR, donc dans un paysage urbain très
industriel. Quantité de musées aux alentours et proximité géographique avec les villes de
Köln, Düsseldorf, Wuppertal, Essen, etc.… (des belles choses à découvrir).

et caméra numérique et super huit 35 et 16 millimètres, pieds professionnels et
toutes sortes de branchement divers, valise kit de reportage, etc.…)
Studio de photographie de 200 m² avec environ 10 box de prise de vue
(parapluie, éclairages divers et angle de murs arrondis)

Dormitory reservation (payment of a deposit in advance is necessary)
The international office of the Fachhochschule Dortmund - University of
Applied Sciences reserves student dormitories of the student service
(studentenwerk) relevant to applications of exchange students from the
partner universities. The rooms are allocated by the student service, you
cannot choose it. These reservations are binding and must correspond to
your information on the registration form. In the case of a student
requesting a change of lease beginning later than the original date
stated, the student service can insist on payments from the first date
specified. Therefore, please plan your staying in Dortmund early enough
relevant to the dates on the registration form.The beginning of the lease
is normally the 1st of March for the summer term and the 1st of
September for the winter semester. At the moment, the monthly rent is
between 150 and 190 € depending of the standard of the student
dormitory choosen. In addition a deposit of 150 € has to paid in advance
as the acceptance of the lease. If there is no damage at the time you
leave the room, this deposit will be repaid. The dormitory rooms
are furnished (desk, desk chair, wardrobe and bed). You may bring other
items such as desk lamps, etc. with you.
All bedclothes are provided by the student service and will be given by
the caretaker.
Kitchen implements (pots, cups, cutlery, etc...) and also towels you may
bring with you likewise.

Santé
students from EC countries should bring the "carte européenne
d'assurance maladie". These international forms should then be
exchanged with a local health insurance office.

Food, transport, materials, etc: 400 € - 600 €
For a stay longer than 2 months, enrolment is obligatory. For the
enrolment at the Fachhochschule, you have to pay an enrolment fee,
currently 125,25 €. This amount includes a semester ticket (free ticket in
all tubes, trams and trains till Düsseldorf and within Dortmund), an
accident insurance, a social insurance contribution to the student service
and a duty to the student committee. Together with the enrolment, all
the exchange students should apply for the admission in a legal health
insurance (e.g.AOK). The student contribution is about 55 € at he
moment. A foreign health insurance wont be accepted.
In every case you should bring an amount of ca.500 €, therefore the first
payments can be sttled immediately (first lease, key deposit, enrolment
fees, health insurance).
After the lease acceptance (please always check the completed term of
lease), all exchange students must register with the foreigner
department of the city of Dortmund. One part of this registration has to
be confirmed by the student service. Otherwise the lease contract must
be presented with the foreigner department.
