offering black currant pâte de
fruit, creamed almond, pastry
cream and lemon confit flavors,
with a clean-cut, chalky finish.
Impressive, with good tension to
the vivid acidity, this resembles a
jittery horse at the gate today,
and doesn’t quite find a sense of
rhythm.

Although this is a blend of equal
parts pinot noir and chardonnay,
all pulled from grand cru
vineyards, right now it’s focused
on the pale pear flavors of the
Côte des Blancs chardonnay. This
is mature and dry, aged to reveal
the savor of fossil-rich lime stone,
the flavors deepening with air to
taste sweetly of
stone. 91/100
