L’INSTITUT
THE INSTITUTE
Créé en 1996, l’institut de management public et
gouvernance territoriale (IMPGT) est la seule unité de
formation et de recherche en management public en
France.
L’IMPGT au sein d’Aix-Marseille Université forme les
futurs managers au service de la performance des
systèmes publics.
Orienté sur une approche pluridisciplinaire
(droit, économie, gestion), élargie aux sciences
sociales et appliquée au secteur non marchand,
l’offre de formation, confortée par une recherche
dynamique en management public, est ouverte aux
étudiants en formations initiale et continue. Elle
s’étend de la licence d’administration publique,
parcours management public, à différents masters
professionnels couvrant plusieurs champs de
spécialisation
(administrations,
collectivités
territoriales, culture, santé, développement durable,
qualité, marketing/communication territoriale) ainsi
qu’au master recherche pouvant déboucher sur le
doctorat en sciences de gestion.
Founded in 1996, the Institute of Public Management
and Territorial Governance (IMPGT – Institut de
Management Public et Gouvernance Territoriale) is the
only public management training and research unit in
France.
Within Aix-Marseille University, the IMPGT trains
future managers to serve the performances of public
systems.
With a multidisciplinary approach (law, economics
and management) expanded to the social sciences
and applied to the non-commercial sector, the
programs proposed, backed up by dynamic research
in public management, are open to students in initial
and ongoing training. They range from a bachelor’s
degree in public administration, a public management
program, various professional Masters degrees covering
several fields of specialization (administrations,
local authorities, culture, healthcare, sustainable
development,
quality,
marketing/territorial
communication), as well as a research Master leading
to a Doctorate in Management Sciences.

UNE RÉFÉRENCE DANS LE CHAMP DU MANAGEMENT PUBLIC
WITH ITS INTERNATIONAL FOCUS, THE IMPGT IS
A REFERENCE IN THE FIELD OF PUBLIC MANAGEMENT
Depuis 2009, en moyenne, 70 % des étudiants diplômés
répondant à nos enquêtes sont en situation d’emploi 6 mois
après la sortie du master 2. À l’IMPGT, cette volonté d’insertion
professionnelle se concrétise par la réalisation d’un stage
obligatoire dès la licence 1 jusqu’au master 2. De nombreuses
formations de master proposent également d’alterner cours
et stages sur l’année universitaire. De plus, grâce aux liens
tissés avec les institutions publiques locales, nationales et
internationales et dans le cadre de colloques dont l’IMPGT est
partenaire ou organisateur ou au cœur de ses formations, les
étudiants bénéficient d’un ancrage dans le monde professionnel,
notamment en master 2, en parallèle des enseignements et du
stage, par la mise en œuvre tout au long de l’année de projets
qui sont initiés, pilotés et réalisés. C’est le cas notamment
des masters 2 management des administrations publiques,
management de la qualité, management des organisations et
des manifestations culturelles, marketing et communication
publics dans lesquels les étudiants travaillent sur des projets en
relation avec les professionnels du secteur.
Dès la licence 2 et jusqu’en master, les étudiants peuvent effectuer
un semestre d’études à l’étranger via les programmes d’échanges
ERASMUS, CREPUQ ou encore ISEP et certaines formations de
master 2 proposent l’obtention d’un double diplôme dans le cadre
d’accords d’échanges. Grâce à un solide réseau de partenaires
internationaux, les étudiants peuvent également réaliser un stage
et envisager des débouchés professionnels dans différents pays.
De plus, l’équipe de recherche en management public du
centre d’études et de recherche en gestion d’Aix-Marseille
(CERGAM) publie chaque année de nombreux articles et
participe à différents colloques internationaux. Partenaire de
groupes importants comme le GEAP (groupe européen pour
l’administration publique), l’IMPGT accueille et organise aussi
des manifestations en partenariat avec des organisations et
facultés du pourtour méditerranéen.
Since 2009, on average 70% of the graduates who have
responded to our survey had found a job 6 months after
graduating from the Master 2 program. At the IMPGT, this
desire to ensure employment can be concretely seen in the
mandatory internships starting at the Licence 1 level and all the
way up to the Master 2 level. Many Master programs also offer
to alternate courses and internships throughout the academic
year. Furthermore, thanks to the connections forged with
local, national and public institutions and in the context of the
conferences for which the IMPGT is a partner or organizer, and
through its training programs, students enjoy a stable footing
in the professional world, notably at the Master 2 level, along
with the courses and internships, through the implementation
of projects that are initiated, steered and completed
throughout the year. This is notably the case of the Master 2
in Public Administration Management, Quality Management,
Management and Organization of Cultural Events, Public
Marketing and Communication, in which students work on
projects alongside professionals in the sector.
Starting at the Licence 2 level and all the way up to the
Master, students can spend a semester studying abroad
with the ERASMUS, CREPUQ and ISEP exchange programs
and certain Master 2 programs offer dual diplomas under
exchange agreements. Thanks to a solid network of
international partners, students can also have an internship
and foresee job opportunities in different countries.
Furthermore, every year the public management research
team at the Aix-Marseille Management Study and Research
Center (CERGAM) publishes many articles and participates
in various international conferences. A partner in major
groups such as the EGPA (European Group for Public
Administration), the IMPGT also welcomes and organizes
events in partnerships with organizations and schools
around the Mediterranean.
