Canada – Ottawa : Les 125 de la paroisse Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes
1887... une source a jailli... 2012... et elle coule encore. La paroisse Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes,
fondée le 11 septembre 1887, et qui fête cette année ses cent vingt-cinq ans d'existence, est
riche d'une longue histoire.
Je pense aujourd'hui à ceux et celles qui l'ont fondée et aux personnes grâce auxquelles elle
s'est développée. Je pense è mes confrères montfortains qui en ont été les pasteurs et à tous
les laïcs qui, d'une manière ou d'une autre, en ont fait un lieu où l'Évangile a été annoncé et les
sacrements célébrés.
Quand on réfléchit à tout ce qu'une communauté chrétienne a pu apporter dans un milieu
durant cent vingt-cinq ans, et quand on prend conscience de la générosité, du courage et de
l'implication de très nombreux paroissiens et paroissiennes que cela a requis, on est admiratif
et on ressent le besoin de rendre grâce pour tout ce qui a été accompli et vécu durant ces 125
ans.

Canada – Ottawa : Our Lady of Lourdes Parish celebrates 125th anniversary
In 1887... a spring began to flow ... in 2012 ... and the water is still flowing. Our Lady of Lourdes
Parish in Vanier, which was erected on September 11, 1887, celebrates this year its 125th
Anniversary of Foundation, and this is all part of a long and rich history.
I am thinking today of all those who have built this Parish, and those who have been
responsible for its development. I am thinking of all my Montfortian confreres who were its
Pastors, and all the Lay persons who, in one way or another, have made it a place where the
Gospel has been preached, and the Sacraments celebrated.
When you consider all what this Christian Community has been able to provide for the area,
during a hundred and twenty-five years, and when you realize the generosity, the courage and
the commitment that have been required from a large number of men and women
Parishioners, you are in wonder and feel the urge to be thankful for all that was accomplished
and gone through, during those 125 years.

Canadá – Ottawa : La parroquia Nuestra Señora de Lourdes celebra sus 125 años
¡1887… un manantial brotó… 2012… y sigue fluyendo! La parroquia de Nuestra Señora de
Lourdes, fundada el 11 de setiembre de 1887, y que celebra este año sus ciento veinte cinco
años de existencia, está llena de una larga historia.
Pienso hoy en aquellos y aquellas que la han fundado y a tantas otras personas que hicieron
posible su desarrollo. Pienso en mis cohermanos montfortianos que han sido los pastores en
esta comunidad y a todos los laicos que, de una manera u otra, contribuyeron a que, en este
lugar, el Evangelio haya sido anunciado y los sacramentos hayan sido celebrados.
Reflexionando en todo lo que la comunidad cristiana ha aportado en este lugar durante ciento
veinte cinco años, y tomando consciencia de la generosidad, del coraje y de la entrega que han
brindado numerosos feligreses, quedamos extasiados y brota en nosotros un sentimiento de
gratitud por todo lo que se ha realizado y vivido durante estos 125 años.
