Consumer Information for primer caps
1. Use
1.1 Intended use
Igniters for cartridges, small arms.
1.2 Duration of use
Primer caps can be used within 10 years after production. However, the term of
guarantee is 2 years after production only.
1.3 Advices on safe handling:
No smoking.
Keep away from heat sources and open flames.
Do not throw article and do not deform (crush) or open it by force.
Caution - ignition sensitive to impact!
Delivery only allowed in closed original packaging.
Use and reloading of cartridges, small arms are only permitted for competent
persons with a permit according to article 27 of the Explosives Act (SprengG).
Store primer caps inaccessible to children.
Wear safety goggles and ear protection during use.
Wash hands right after use.
Store unused primer caps for safety reasons in the original packaging, not in bulk.
2. Storage
Only store in approved packaging in areas provided for it in accordance with the
transport regulations (storage class: 1.4, compatibility group: S).
Store cool and dry (optimal storage temperature: 20°C).
Secure against theft and unauthorized use.
Do not store together with combustible or oxidizing substances.
3. Destruction / Disposal
Completely used primer caps can be disposed as metal waste.
Unused primer caps, which cannot be used for their original purpose any more, have
to be disposed of by a qualified disposal facility under consideration of the local
official regulations, in particular the dangerous goods regulations (UN 0044,
PRIMERS, CUP TYPE, 1.4S).
AVV waste key number (according to the waste directory regulation, AVV):
16 04 03 „other waste explosive “(dangerous waste).
Before contracting external service enterprises the waste producer has to check
whether these have all the necessary authorizations to collect transport and recycle
or dispose of these objects.
