DANIEL NASHID Postulant du membre 2016 Énoncé du (de la) candidat(e) : I'm a intellectual property lawyer with a focus on internet law and domain names. I would do my best to serve the interests of Canadians and to provide the best .ca experience possible. I have previously held governance roles on my condo board as well as student associations. To continue developing the .CA domain name and spreading the word on the advantages for local Canadian businesses, blogs, and forums to register the website under the ccTLD. 2. I am intellectual property lawyer specializing in Internet/Copyright & Trademarks/Social Media Issues. I am obsessed with technology and the way it can change and improve the our lives. I have governance experience with private corporations, condominium boards, and student social clubs. 3. Continue to monitor and actively assess the CDRP process to ensure legitimate business and stakeholders are served by the process, while also limiting the possibility of overreach by trademark holders. Continue to hold grass-roots events to educate the public on the advantages of the .CA domain and how CIRA can serve their interests and needs, and listening to those needs. Encourage aspiring programmers and computer scientists to develop the .CA registry integrating block-chain database technology! I believe the .CA registry is a perfect test-case for block-chain databases and will set the bar for provincial property (both real property and personal property) registries, banking and financial institutions, and other applications.
