salon du meuble de Milan sur le
stand du VIA, Zona Tortona et au
Musée des Sciences et Techniques,
un "projet partenarial" qui offre au
designer Joran Briand et à l'ingénieurnavigateur Corentin de Chatelperron,
la possibilité de développer le projet
Gold of Bengal, autour de la toile de
jute du Bengladesh.

e 4 avril 2007, Frédéric Morand déposait le Kbis de sa societe
en même temps qu il signait l'acte de naissance de son fils
Luc Auiourd hui la marque Saintluc propose une collection de
mobilier en fibre de lin composite mise au point avec François
Azambourg, Jean-Marie Massaud, Noe Duchaufour-Lawrance "La
premiere orientation de I entreprise fut un echec, explique t il Suite a
mon experience d'équipementier automobile spécialise en materiaux
composites, j'ai fait I erreur de dessiner moi-même mes projets Les
marques de luxe n'écoutent pas les bureaux d'études maîs le choix
d'un designer qui porte avec lui un projet ses technologies et ses
nouveautes François Azambourg que ie suis aile voir sur les conseils
du VIA a décline mon invitation, refusant de travailler un matériau
composite comme l'avait fait Starck il y a vingt ans'. Il voulait innover
et faire du composite avec du vegetal G est ainsi qu a vu le jour la
premiere chaise expérimentale Lin 94 (94% lm, 6% resine) apres deux
ans et demi de recherche Le fauteuil de Jean Marie Massaud et la
table basse de Noe Duchaufour-Lawrance verront le jour en 2011

posite en fibre de jute du Bengladesh A l'origine du projet, la volonté
de produire des bateaux en toile de jute qui apporterait une solution à
une deforestation endémique et une alternative ecologique a la fibre
de verre polluante importée de Chine Avec en perspective, une flotte
ecologique et durable, le Bengladesh étant l'un des pays au monde
avec le plus haut ratio bateau/habitant Pour donner une visibilité a ce
projet Corentin de Chatelperron a construit son petit voilier "Tara Tan '
fvite en Bengali) et est remonte jusqu'à Marseille depuis Dakha, (une
epopee a suivre sur www tara tan blogspot com) Joran Bnand, sur
feur et ami specialiste de la planche poncée mam, a dessine le tabou
ret ' Toul qui matérialise la premiere piece en toile de jute composite
Frederic Morand a apporte son expertise pour finaliser la piece solde
et legere comme I emblème de Saintluc, le taureau aile "Saintluc est
aussi sous I etoile du verseau, symbole de I equilibre et de l'harmonie,
equilibre entre I artisanat et l'industrie composite entre la technologie
et I ecologie, entre le luxe et I intelligence, entre l'éthique et le commerce explique t il Lobjectif de la marque Saintluc aujourd'hui est
de developper un reseau de distribution (l'agence Alu développe les
points de vente) et de rester a la source de nouveaux produits avec

des innovations en vue, tant dans les process que dans la matiere'
Pour la ville de Fjaler en Norvege Saintlluc a développe avec Birgitta
Ralston et Alexandre Eau, les lampadaires Shroom , avec capteursdétecteurs de mouvement et domotique intégrée Ils équipent la ville
s'allument et s éteignent progressivement en fonction de la presence
du public La gamme sera exposée pendant les Designer's Days avec
la Confederation Europeenne du Lin et du Chanvre (CELC), au Palais
Royal dans la courdu conseil constitutionnel,faceal aile Montpensier
"Saintluc veut faire les meubles de demain, pas seulement bio, pas
seulement green maîs avec une vraie strategie design Et une production locale l'acier, le bois, la toile de Mayenne, l'assemblage
tout est fait dans un rayon de soixante kilometres autour de Laval Le
fournisseur le plus éloigne est en Vendee le lin vient de Normandie
Dans le projet de Joran, si le jute vient du Bengladesh il sera moule en
France et conforme aux exigences du label Max Havelaar Le sens de
I histoire voudrait qu'a terme la production se fasse au Bengladesh A

high because Bangladesh has one of the
highest rat os of boats to people in the
world To publicise his project Corentin
de Chatelperron built a small sailmg
boal that he named Tara Tin (rtieanmg
Quickly in Bengal ) and sailed t from
Dhaka to Marseil e (his exploits can be

project to produce an item that is solid
