Full-Time Faculty Position (at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor)
The Faculty of Social Sciences comprises nine departments, schools and institutes, which
offer undergraduate, Master’s and doctoral programs in both English and French. With its
10,000 students, 260 full-time professors, and wide array of programs and research centres,
the Faculty of Social Sciences plays a key role at the heart of the University of Ottawa. Its
graduate students are supervised by excellent researchers and undertake cutting-edge
research in the Faculty’s Master’s and Ph.D. programs.
The School of Psychology at the University of Ottawa is accepting applications for two
tenure-track positions in Psychology at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor.
The candidates should have a Ph.D. in Psychology and have demonstrated excellence and
leadership in research using fMRI or PET technology, as evidenced by their publication and
grant record.
The successful candidates will hold a joint appointment with the Royal’s Institute of Mental
Health Research (IMHR), affiliated with the University of Ottawa. With a growing research
institute currently comprised of over 30 active researchers and over 110 trainees, the IMHR
continually strives to promote, support, integrate and disseminate basic and clinical research
knowledge through collaboration efforts and networks.
Duties





Teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels
Supervising Ph.D. candidates
Conducting research and publishing activities
Participating in the University’s academic and administrative activities
Other activities as specified in the collective agreement

Completed Ph.D.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching
Strength of the publication and research track record in research using fMRI or
PET technology
BILINGUALISM
The University of Ottawa is a bilingual institution, and all professors in the Faculty of Social
Sciences must be actively bilingual to gain tenure. The successful candidate will be required
to teach in both English and French from their second year in the department. The
University of Ottawa offers second-language training to staff members and their spouses.
TERMS AND SALARY
Tenure-track position. Assistant professor salary scale commensurate at $77,379.

baccalauréat, de maîtrise et de doctorat répartis dans neuf départements, écoles et instituts.
Avec ses quelques 10 000 étudiantes et étudiants, ses 260 professeurs réguliers, son vaste
choix de programmes et ses centres de recherche, la Faculté des sciences sociales occupe
une place privilégiée au cœur de l’Université d’Ottawa. Les étudiants diplômés de la
Faculté, encadrés par des chercheurs chevronnés, mènent des travaux de fine pointe dans
nos nombreux programmes de maîtrise et de doctorat.
L’École de psychologie de l’Université d’Ottawa désire pourvoir deux (2) postes
réguliers de professeur menant à la permanence, au rang d’adjoint, d’agrégé ou de titulaire,
en psychologie. Les candidats et candidates doivent avoir un doctorat en psychologie et
avoir démontré de l’excellence et du leadership dans la recherche utilisant l’imagerie par
résonance magnétique fonctionnelle (IRMf) ou la tomographie par émission de positrons
(TEP), tel que démontré par leur dossier de publications et de subventions de recherche.
Les candidats ou candidates retenues auront une affiliation avec l’Institut de recherche en
santé mentale (IRSM) de l’Hôpital Royal, affilié à l’Université d’Ottawa. Avec ses 30
chercheurs actifs et ses 110 étudiants en formation, l’IRSM vise à promouvoir, appuyer,
intégrer et disséminer les connaissances acquises par le biais de la recherche
fondamentale et de la recherche clinique par des efforts de collaboration et de réseautage.
FONCTIONS





Enseignement à tous les cycles d’études ;
Encadrement d’étudiantes et d’étudiants de troisième cycle;
Poursuite d’un programme de recherche et de publications;
Participation aux activités éducatives et administratives de l’Université ;
Accomplissement de toute autre activité prévue à la convention collective.
CRITÈRES DE SÉLECTION



Détenir un doctorat en psychologie;
Excellence en enseignement;
Excellence du dossier de recherche et de publications dans la recherche utilisant
l’imagerie fonctionnelle par résonance magnétique ou la tomographie par émission
de positrons.
BILINGUISME
L’Université d’Ottawa étant une institution bilingue, tous les professeurs et professeures de
la Faculté des sciences sociales doivent démontrer un bilinguisme actif avant d’accéder à la
permanence. Il est nécessaire d’enseigner dans les deux langues à partir de la deuxième
année de service. L’Université offre aux membres du corps professoral et à leur conjoint ou
conjointe la possibilité de suivre des cours pour parfaire leur langue seconde.
TERME ET SALAIRE
Poste menant à la permanence. L’échelle salariale pour le rang de professeur adjoint ou
professeure adjointe débute à 77 379 $ annuellement.
