original score.

the questions as to who started the war, and why, and could it have
been avoided. This book, written by the distinguished
Cambridge historian is rated as the best ever written about this subject.
He provides a great deal of pre-1914 history of the nations involved and
analyses step by step the causes that led to war.

This book will be presented by Tina Creber
This Pulitzer Prize winner is a “classic”, selected by the Modern Library
as one of the best 100 non-fiction books of all time. Tuchman reveals
her brilliance as she goes beyond “the alliances” and the “arms-race”, to
the corrosive ideologies and national myths; her description of hesitant
or brash, declarations of war is foreboding; and finally, she presents a
comprehensive and lucid account of the first month of action, which sets
the tone and pattern, so fatal for the rest of the war.
THE MADMAN AND THE BUTCHER

This book will be presented by Ernie Creber
This highly acclaimed book by the award winning Canadian War Museum historian, is a double biography of General (Sir) Sam Hughes and
General (Sir) Arthur Currie. The two men both contributed great service
to Canada and were deeply concerned about the welfare of soldiers in
the field. Yet they participated in a shocking libel suit over the defamation of character. Of paramount interest in the book is the detailed account of the entire war the Canadians fought from early 1915 to the end,
not leaving out any of their successes nor tragedies.

début 1915 à la fin, n’omettant ni succès, ni tragédies, est particulièrement intéressante.
