Course Details
In the course of the first semester we will learn some grammar :
- The present tense
- Le future proche
- Masculin/féminin
- Les articles indéfinis : un, une, des
- Les articles définis : le, la, les
- Le pluriel des noms et des adjectifs
- L'interrogation
- La phrase négative
- Les adjectifs démonstratifs : ce, cette, cet, ces
and communication :
- Prendre contact, se présenter, remercier
- Demander des informations, poser des questions
- Expliquer, décrire,
- Dire ce qu'on aime, ce qu'on n'aime pas, exprimer une préférence
- Faire les courses au supermarché, au marché
- Dans les magasins

Course Goals
The aim of this course is to provide students with a basic knowledge of the written and
spoken French language
Course Grading Method
The final grade will be made of :
two exams - 45% each
required homework and attendance - 10%
Learning Outcomes
The students will have acquired a basis in French language and will be able to
communicate effectively and appropiately with others in various situations :
to introduce oneself, to request or to give information, to propose something, to accept or
to refuse an invitation, etc.
