Qu’est ce qu’un «Collaboration workspace»
What are Collaboration Workspaces?
Collaboration workspaces are a special type of web sites, specially designed to facilitate the exchange of information
between co-workers. Collaboration workspaces at CERN are based on the SharePoint technology.
Here are some important caracteristics of collaboration workspaces, compared to standard web sites:
Advanced web functionality
Your collaboration workspace allows you to easily set up advanced web features such as discussion forums, wikis,
picture libraries, blogs etc.
No need for web authoring tools, the new site is immediately up and working
Your collaboration workspace does not require you to use any web authoring tool. Everything can be done from
your web browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Firefox, Safari), including editing web pages. In addition, you do not
have to worry about defining page layouts and color scheme for your site: this is done automatically. Most web
pages are generated automatically for you.
Easily create forms and views of data
A core feature of collaboration workspaces is to make it easy for you to create web forms in order to enter
information, just by defining the columns of a list. SharePoint automatically creates an input form and views of
the data. In standard web sites, creating web forms typically requires the manual creation of a table in a database
and manually define the form’s input fields.
Document libraries and versioning
Collaboration workspaces provide document libraries to store documents (such as Office documents, PDF files...)
that you want to share, especially when several persons have to work on the same document. Versioning features
allow several persons to work on a document without overwriting each other’s changes, and automatically keep
track of previous document versions as it is edited.
Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 permet aux équipes de rester connectées et productives grâce à un

remplir leur mission.
Les groupes peuvent collaborer efficacement et configurer des sites et des espaces de travail rapidement. Les

P. Enregistrer votre Site au CERN
Afin de pouvoir publier vos documents sur le World Wide Web, vous avez besoin d’un serveur qui hébergera vos fichiers.
Le Service WEB CERN vous propose un ensemble de serveurs web.
Créer votre site Web au cern : «Collaboration workspace»
- Ouvrez votre navigateur internet : tapez l’URL suivante : cern.ch/webservices ou webservices (depuis le cern)
(Vous pouvez contrôler vos sites précédement créés dans «Manage my web sites»)
- Dans la zone «Services», cliquez sur «Create a new web Site»
- Authentifiez-vous (login et password Nice)
- Remplissez toutes les informations concernant votre site : ex. : «Site category» : Official,Personal, Test
- Sélectionnez «Collaboration workspace»
