Ballet Curriculum for Opals (O) Classes- Average age 5-8 Build and introduce Turn out, Alignment, Balance, Grace, Endurance, Strength, Flexibility, Coordination, Self-Esteem, Performance Quality and Memory in Ballet technique. Introduction and be able to know & do the following: 5 feet positions in turn out (1st -5th) Flex and Point Arm Positions (Port de bra) - en haut (High or 5th), en bas (low) devant (front or 1st), a la seconde (2nd- to the side), intro to 3rd and 4th. Using 1st, 2nd and 5th position with most combinations, intro with 4th: Plie' - demi' and grand Releve' Eleve' intro Sous-sus Tendu- En Croix- Front, Side and Back (Devant, Seconde & Derriere) Cambre'- " " " intro Degage'- " " " intro Grand Battements- " " " intro Rond de jambe- en dehor and en dedan intro Soutenu intro Arabesque intro Attitude Saute'- 1st, 2nd, Changement Ballet walks Ballet runs intro Pas De Bouree Chasse' Balance' Intro Bourree' Coupe' Passe' Retierre' Echappe' Pirouette Chaine' turns Pique- intro to pique' turns intro Grand Jete' intro Pas de chat Adagio- slow movement combo working primarily balance (alignment), strength and flexibility Allegro- faster movement combo working primarily the same with the focus on coordination, endurance, memorization, control Reverence- bow Ballet Curriculum for Sapphires (S) Classes- Average age 8-12 Same as Opals (O) classes; however improvement from all introduction and requirements. Endurance needs to improve, along with retaining and picking up material faster.
