En 2006, Procédés Chénel International célèbre 110 ans
d’expertise familiale au service de l’Exposition.
Gilles Rano, menuisier, né en 1871 fonda l’entreprise en
1896 et la conduisit jusqu’en 1924. Il participa à la réalisation de nombreuses expositions internationales.
Pierre Chénel, son gendre, menuisier et électricien reprit
l’entreprise peu de temps avant la mort de son beau père
en mai 1925 jusqu’en 1961, devenant entrepreneur de la
Foire de Paris jusqu’en 1950, à cette époque, cette exposition était la plus importante en France et de renommée
mondiale. Guy Chénel, fils cadet de Pierre Chénel et de
Marcelle Rano reprit en octobre 1961 l’entreprise familiale. Architecte DPLG, il développa la société jusqu’à
400 personnes en la dotant de nombreux produits et
techniques brevetés qu’il parvint également à exporter.
À la suite de troubles syndicaux, l’entreprise familiale fut
rachetée en 1991 par Générale Location.
In 2006, Procédés Chénel International celebrates 110 years of
family expertise in exhibitions.
Gilles Rano, a carpenter born in 1871, founded the company in
1896 which he ran until 1924. He participated in the successful
staging of many international exhibitions.
Pierre Chénel, his son in law and also carpenter and electrician by
trade, took over the reins of the company a little before “Grand
Father” died, in 1925. Pierre became a major supplier to the
“Foire de Paris”, the most important french exhibition until 1950
and known all over the world. He led the company up to 1961.
Guy Chénel the younger son of Pierre Chénel and Marcelle Rano,
managed the family company from 1961. Architect, he developed
the firm up to 400 people with many patented products and techniques that he successfully exported.
Following union troubles, the company was sold to Générale
Location in 1991.

Guy Chénel développa alors la petite société Procédés
Chénel aidé en 1994 par sa fille Sophie Chénel.
Aujourd’hui P.C.I. exporte 35% de son Chiffre d’Affaires
et développe toujours des nouveaux produits et techniques destinés à l’exposition et aux manifestations
temporaires.
Guy Chénel, however, continued the development of Procédés
Chénel, helped by his daughter Sophie Chénel since 1994.
Today, P.C.I. exports 35% of its turnover and still develops numerous products and techniques dedicated to exhibitions and
temporary applications.

opens directly over the heat source.
