ofloyalanddedicatedservicetotheCanadianArmedForcesasanOfficerwiththeCadet
InstructorsCadreandasanNon-CommissionedMemberintheSupplyandAmmunition
Technicianoccupations.
MCpl Marchand enrolled in March 1995 as a CIC Officer (Lieutenant) and served in Ottawa,
Riviere–Du-LoupandL’AncienneLorette(QuebecCity)until1998.In2002hejoinedtheRegular
Force and has enjoyed postings to CFB Borden, CFAD Angus and CFB Valcartier. He has also
beenpostedtwicetoCFBBagotvilleandthreetimestoCFBGreenwood.
DuringhisRegFservicehecompletedaneight-monthtourinPatrolBaseShojaandPatrolBase
Sperwan-Gar, Afghanistan from Nov 2010 – Jun 2011. He has received the Queen’s Diamond
Jubilee Medal, the Command Commendation, the Canadian Forces Decoration and the South
WestAsiaandExpeditionCampaignStar.
TogetherwiththeundeniablesupportofhiswifeKatyRochefortandtheirthreesons,Willyam,
Raphael and Gabriel, it would not have been possible for MCpl Marchand to have had such a
successfulcareerintheCAF.
MCplMarchandwillbeattendingtheNovaScotiaCommunityCollegeforthenexttwoyearsto
becomeaRedSealElectricalTechnician.HeandhisfamilywillremainintheGreenwood,N.S.
area until his wife Katy gets posted. Katy recently enrolled as a Supply Technician and will
continuetocarrytheLogisticsBranchFlagfortheirfamily.
OnbehalfoftheLogisticsBranch,14WingGreenwoodandWingReplenishmentSquadronwe
wouldliketothankKarlforhis19yearsofloyalty,dedicationandhardwork.Wealsowishhim
thebestinhisfutureendeavours.Hewillbegreatlymissed!

basesdepatrouilleShojaetSperwan-Gar,enAfghanistan,denovembre2010àjuin2011.Ila
reçulaMédailledujubilédediamantdelaReine,uneMentionélogieuseducommandement,la
DécorationdesForcescanadiennesetl’Étoiledecampagnegénérale–AsieduSud‑Ouestavec
rubanEXPÉDITION.
SanslesoutienindéniabledesonépouseKatyRochefortetdeleurstroisfils,Willyam,Raphael
etGabriel,leCplcMarchandn’auraitpaspumenerunecarrièreaussiréussiedanslesFAC.
LeCplcMarchandfréquenteraleNovaScotiaCommunityCollegeaucoursdesdeuxprochaines
annéesafindedevenirtechnicienenélectricitédésignéSceaurouge.Safamilleetlui
demeurerontdanslarégiondeGreenwood,enN.‑É.,jusqu’àcequesonépouseKatysoit
affectée.Katys’estrécemmentenrôléecommetechnicienneenapprovisionnementetportera
leflambeauduServicedelalogistiquedansleurfamille.
AunomduServicedelaLogistique,dela14eEscadreGreenwoodetdel’Escadronde
réapprovisionnementdel’Escadre,noustenonsàremercierKarlpour19annéesdeserviceloyal
etdévouéetdetravailacharné.Nousluisouhaitonsbonsuccèsdanstoutcequ’ilentreprendra
àl’avenir.Ilnousmanqueraénormément!
