René de Monseignat has been engaged in professional practice as a lawyer
since 1972.
Prior to joining RETTER ATTORNEYS upon its formation in 2009, René
accrued nearly forty years of corporate law experience in Paris and New York
at major American law firms (Cleary Gottlieb, Shearman & Sterling and
Donovan Leisure, the later ultimately integrated in LeBoeufLamb - now Dewey
LeBoeuf - where he acted as office managing partner for more than 14 years);
he was mainly involved in cross-border transactions for institutional clients
and providing legal assistance to international families in relation to assets
structuring and holding.
René holds two D.E.S.S. (“Diplôme d’Etudes Supérieures Spécialisées”) in
Private Law and Public Law from the University of Paris 1 (France) and
graduated from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques (Sciences-Po). He also
obtained a Licence degree in History from Sorbonne University.
René currently holds independent director positions in family controlled
companies engaged in life sciences and investment management.
