Jonathan Embry est étudiant au doctorat à la Schulich
School of Music de l’Université McGill, sous la direction de Hans-Ola Ericsson. Il détient une maîtrise en
musique sacrée de l’Université Notre-Dame, classe
de Craig Cramer et de Paul Walker pour le continuo.
Précédemment, il a complété des études en orgue
avec Kola Owolabi, à l’Université Syracuse. Jonathan
a reçu à deux reprises le prix Arthur Poister de
l’Université Syracuse et le prix Rev. Michael Driscoll
de Notre-Dame. Jonathan a occupé plusieurs
fonctions en tant qu’organiste et directeur musical
dans des églises, tâches qu’il a accomplies avec intérêt. Jonathan est aussi compositeur. Une de ses
oeuvres a été crée à St. Petersburg, Russie, en 2016.
En 2017, il sera l’artiste international invité au International Organ Festival, en Kondopoga, Russie.
Jonathan Embry is a Doctor of Music student at the Schulich School of Music at
McGill University studying organ performance with Dr. Hans-Ola Ericsson. Jonathan
completed a Master in Sacred Music degree at the University of Notre Dame studying
organ in the studio of Dr. Craig Cramer and continuo with Dr. Paul Walker. Before
studying at Notre Dame, Jonathan completed his undergraduate study of organ performance at Syracuse University with Dr. Kola Owolabi. Jonathan has received the
Arthur Poister Award from Syracuse University twice and the Rev. Michael Driscoll
Award from Notre Dame. Jonathan has worked at several churches as organist or
music director and enjoys playing church services. Jonathan also composes; one of
his organ pieces had its European premier in St. Petersburg, Russia in 2016. In 2017
Jonathan will be the international guest artist at the International Organ Festival in
Kondopoga, Russia.
