City of ROUBAIX :
Roubaix is a French commune in the Nord department, in the Nord Pas de Calais region. It is the chief
town of Lucerne.
With a little less than one hundred thousand inhabitants, Roubaix, second city of the Nord-Pas-de-Calais
by population, form, alongside Lille Tourcoing, Villeneuve d'Ascq, and 81 other cities the Urban
Community of Lille Métropole an intermunicipal which has about 1.1 million inhabitants. More broadly, it
belongs to a vast conurbation formed with the Belgian cities of Mouscron, Kortrijk, Tournai and Menin
who gave birth in January 2008 the first European grouping of territorial cooperation Eurometropole LilleKortrijk-Tournai, with nearly two million.
Recognized city of art and history, the city remains famous for its architectural heritage and the economic
growth it experienced during the Industrial Revolution in the nineteenth century, thanks to the textile
industry, which it was the world capital in the early twentieth century. This is in Roubaix were founded
major auction houses in French correspondence (La Redoute, 3 Suisses).
Roubaix seeks to fight against the difficulties of deindustrialization of 1970-80 with new economic
sectors, its cultural policy (La Piscine - Art Museum and André Diligent Industry, Public Issues, Coliseum,
National Archives of world work) and a strong student presence (EDHEC ENSAIT). However,
unemployment remains high and 75% of the territory of the city is classified as a sensitive urban zone
(ZUS).

The "Stab" is managed by a Local Public Company covered velodrome Regional Management.
Located next to the legendary outdoor velodrome where each year is considered the arrival of ParisRoubaix (World Racing Tour)
The velodrome was inaugurated September 15, 2012
