Octopus
Description
Spread the word: following extraordinary tours of his previous productions (Shazam! and Sombreros) and ahead of his big trip to the US where he will
be overseeing the production of his new creation for the Cirque du Soleil, Philippe Decouflé is stopping over en route for two evenings in Charleroi.
Octopus is a kind of choreographic poem in eight tableaux for eight dancers. Placing an emphasis on the image (which is filmed live on stage,
projected and then multiplied), this new production focuses on the dancers' black and white bodies, naked or scantily clad in hair and feathers,
fragmented, bound hand and foot, intertwined... Dabbling in a bit of everything, as fiercely passionate about circus and theatre as he as about new
technologies and dance, Decouflé is embarking on the conquest of a pure beauty with Octopus, interspersed with a certain eroticism and a fair amount
of humour. Two musicians from rock group Nosfell breathe vital and at times angry energy into the show, supporting the dancers in their desire to offer
a complete show.
