Toy models - Solvay Institutes
Solvay Colloquium Professor Tadashi Tokieda Cambridge University, UK Toy models Would you like to come see some toys? `Toys’ here have a special sense: objects of daily life which we can find or make in minutes, yet which, if played with imaginatively, reveal surprising phenomena that keep physicists puzzling for a while. We will see tabletop demos of many such toys and visit some of the science that they open up. A common theme that emerges is singularity. Tuesday 22 November 2016 at 4.00 P.M. COFFEE AND TEA WILL BE SERVED AT 3.45 P.M. IN FRONT OF THE SOLVAY ROOM SOLVAY ROOM Université Libre de Bruxelles Campus Plaine - Boulevard du Triomphe Access 2- 1050 Brussels www.solvayinstitutes.be
