Important End of the Year News from Donna at the Library! 1. Just a friendly reminder for all teachers to take a look around their classroom for FLRC items that may be misplaced pieces from kits. Any items found would be happily received. At present, there are lonely kits looking for pieces from the Oui, Oui, Oui from Madame Natalie (including a teacher guide), a video tape from Quebec Signs 2, and many pieces from Les Editions Passe-Temps. As well, the FLRC materials are being requested to be returned by June 25th for an inventory. Please keep in mind that it will take about three weeks. Any concerns, please contact Donna at [email protected] or 780- 296-2500. 2. A HUGE THANKS TO CANADIAN PARENTS FOR FRENCH! Earlier this year, CPF initiated the writing of a Community Initiatives Grant to enhance our adolescent and children’s collection at the Grande Prairie Public Library. We have just been informed that we received the entire amount requested: $12 500! So, we will be able build a NON-FICTION section for teens and also purchase the every-popular FRENCH COMIC BOOKS in addition to significantly improving our CHILDREN’S COLLECTION. Mille mercis! New resources still trickling in! Area DELF Training for 2011-2012 The interest in the DELF Exams is taking off across the country. There are now 20 examination centres across the country within school boards, ministries of education and universities. With five years of experience, our Centre has become a model to others in its implementation, especially in demonstrating how to use the exams as a progression throughout the years, not just as an exit exam. Read Tina McDonald’s (vice-principal St Gérard) in the next ACPI Journal! *More information on registration available in August. 1. How and Why? DELF Information and How-to-Prepare-Your-Students Session – September19 AM 2.
