After the success of last year’s event, the festival is renewing its offer
of a screening for toddlers (2 years and up) in the cosy atmosphere
of the Meridienne at the Quartz. Four films will be shown for this
introduction to world of film, accompanied by Sharlubêr the
musician.

In a comfortable environment, up 150 children and their parents will
be able to experience the pleasures of the big screen. Armchairs,
chairs, carpets and cushions mean that the young spectators will feel
right at home! Sharlubêr will fill each interlude with stories and songs
to make the experience even more fulfilling.

Our Saturday evening Battle is back again, with a change due to the
celebrations for our 30th birthday. This time it won’t be two European
festival programmers who fight it out through short films, but two
Brest celebrities who have lived through many Festivals who will
find themselves in the ring with the aim of winning the votes of the
audience.
Shorts TV is delighted and proud to be a partner of Brest European
Short Film Festival and to celebrate the 30th anniversary of this event
with a special programme curated by Simon Young.
LA LIBIDO FAIT SON CINÉMA
SPECIAL 30TH
SATURDAY 14TH OF NOVEMBER – 9.30 PM
LE QUARTZ, PETIT THÉÂTRE
Since 1997, LIBIDO (Ligue d’Improvisation de Brest et de l’Île
D’Ouessant) has been shaking things up in and around Brest with
its improvisation matches, shows and cabarets. For this 30th Festival,
LIBIDO has joined up with the Brest European Short Film Festival with
“Impro & Video”, a direct encounter between improv theatre and the
short film format. The show brings together actors with a selection of
the best films from the Festival over the last 30 years that we have on
DVD. The improv actors will see the film extracts at the same time as
the audience and thanks to their talent and imagination will use them
to create a bigger story. Action and suspense along with amazing
improvisation will create a great experience for the audience.
This selection of very accessible audience pleasing films is a broad
range for all tastes. Including a romantic comedy set in London’s
Brick Lane, a few zombies of course, and star names including Martin
Freeman as ex-Small Face Steve Marriot and Michael Fassbender as a
bank robber with a secret plan.
