A French Cooking Project
You will plan, prepare, serve and clean up a one-course French café meal for your
family. Remember that in France, people go to cafes for just a drink and a light
meal. Here are some ideas for your plat du jour:
soupe à l’oignon
salade mixte
omelette nature
crêpe jambon-fromage
croque-monsieur
salade niçoise
sandwich au jambon
ratatouille
salade verte
quiche
steak-frites
cassoulet
1. Choose the dish you’d like to prepare. Find recipes online.
2. Prepare a flyer announcing your Plat du Jour, or special of the day. Also
include beverages. Dessert is optional.
3. Set an attractive table.
4. Serve the meal to your family.
5. Take lots of photos!
6. Prepare comment cards for your guests to fill out. Clean up.
7. Arrange your flyer, photos, and comment cards
on a piece of poster board or in a small scrapbook.
