Town Hall : Re-Imagining Main Street
Exploring our past for a better tomorrow
As part of the revitalization process of downtown Alexandria, the Township of North Glengarry, invites
all residents, business and property owners to a special Town Hall meeting on:
Tuesday June 23, 2015 at 7 pm
At the old Alexandria Post Office
7-9 Main Street North, Alexandria
A special thank you to the Bornstein family for allowing us to host this event in the historic and
meticulously restored former Post Office.
Re-Imagining Main Street will use historic and current photographs to provide an overview
of the history and physical evolution of the traditional commercial core of Alexandria. We will guide
participants through an analysis of the downtown environment to discuss the elements which give
Main Street its unique charm and flavour and will help collectively direct us in re-imagining Main
Street for the future.
This public session is a critical step in the preparation of the Community Improvement Plan (CIP) and
we are counting on your presence to help identify opportunities and design solutions, in the goal of
creating a Main Street which is a remarkable place to shop, live and do business.

Dans le cadre du processus de revitalisation du centre-ville d’Alexandria, le canton de Glengarry
Nord invite les résidents, les gens d’affaires et les propriétaires à participer dans une consultation
publique importante qui aura lieu:
Mardi le 23 juin 2015 à 19 heures
dans l’ancien Bureau de Poste d’Alexandria
7-9, rue Main Street nord, Alexandria
Nous désirons remercier la famille Bornstein qui nous permet d’utiliser l’ancien Bureau de Poste, un
magnifique bâtiment patrimonial restauré au centre-ville.
Ré-imaginer Main Street comprendra l'utilisation de photographies historiques et actuelles
afin de fournir un aperçu de l'évolution historique et physique du noyau commercial d'Alexandria.
Nous guiderons les participants dans une analyse de l'environnement du centre-ville et nous
discuterons des caractéristiques qui donnent à Main Street son charme et saveur unique et nous
aideront collectivement à ré-imaginer la rue Main dans un avenir prochain.
Cette consultation publique est une étape importante dans la préparation du Plan d'améliorations
communautaire (PAC). Nous comptons sur votre présence afin de nous aider à identifier les
opportunités et les solutions conceptuelles pour que Main Street puisse devenir un endroit hors pair
pour magasiner, travailler et vivre.
