Chances are, if you are viewing this, you may be facing burnout. But don’t be alarmed. It’s something
that most of us face many times. If you aren’t at the burnout stage yet, maybe you’re looking for ways to
avoid it. In either case, there are some fantastic strategies you can take to help avoid burnout and actively
manage your stress levels.
These following ideas will help you manage your stress and avoid burnout.
For starters, we have all heard: leave your work at work, but are you really doing it? If you have trouble
leaving work at work, try these hints: leave at the same time every day, don’t take work home, put music
on in your car and consider practicing some breathing exercises to rejuvenate yourself.
Another good tip to avoiding burnout is to remember to put yourself first. You have to take care of
yourself if you’re able to give your best.
If you lead a team, stop micromanaging. Micromanaging can lead to burnout very quickly. Let others
make their own mistakes. If you are a micromanager, and sometimes even if you’re not – this can be
really difficult - allow your people to grow, and don’t be afraid if they make a mistake.
Learn to say, “No!” If you are a person that has a hard time with this, you know who you are!
Start sweating! I mean it! Doing something physical is good for managing stress. This may mean going
to the gym, walking or working in the garden, for example.
