Santéships
Health law is an expansive and rapidly evolving field. For example, policy-makers must grapple with such pressing
issues as adapting laws to address new health technologies, containing global health threats like Ebola and
antimicrobial resistance, using the law to incentivize healthy behaviours, Charter challenges to laws limiting
private health care and assisted suicide, and using neurological evidence in criminal law sentencing decisions.
Ces stages visent à fournir à des étudiants de première année en droit une aide financière en vue de cultiver des
relations de mentorat avec les professeurs et de travailler avec des professeurs sur leurs projets de recherche en
cours. Ce programme est ouvert exclusivement aux étudiants de 1re année inscrits à la Section de common law
en anglais et en français. Les étudiants sélectionnés recevront une rémunération de 1 000 $ pour leur travail.
The Santéships are intended to provide law students with financial assistance, to cultivate mentoring
relationships with faculty, and to work on current research initiatives. This program is open exclusively to first
year students in both the English and French common law program. Selected students will receive $1000
remuneration for their work.
La demande doit comprendre une lettre d’accompagnement et un curriculum vitæ. Il n’est pas nécessaire de
fournir un relevé de notes. L'étudiante ou l'étudiant doit préciser ses choix de sujets de recherche à partir de la
liste suivante : « The Use of Donor Sperm in Assisted Human Reproduction », « Organ Donation in Canada », «
Mind, Brain and Law », ou « Global Health Law ». Nous accepterons les demandes reçues jusqu’à 17 h le 12

Applications should include a cover letter outlining your reasons for applying and your curriculum vitae. You do
not need to provide transcripts. In the cover letter you should indicate desired areas of research from among the
following list of projects: “The Use of Donor Sperm in Assisted Human Reproduction”, “Organ Donation in
Canada”, “Mind, Brain and Law”, and “Global Health Law”. Applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. on
November 12, 2015 to be eligible. Please submit your application by email to [email protected].
Nous informerons les personnes choisies de leur placement auprès d’un membre du corps professoral au cours
de la semaine du 14 décembre 2015. La recherche sera entreprise pendant de janvier à mars 2016, selon les
directives du superviseur (soit environ 5 heures par semaine, pendant 12 semaines, représentant une soixantaine
d’heures au total).
Selected students will be advised of their professor placement on the week of December 14, 2015. Research will
be carried out from January to March 2016, as coordinated by your supervisor (approximately 5 hours per week
for 12 weeks, for a total of approximately 60 hours).
