Information for candidates
Information
Information (dates, fees, preparation, etc.) and regulations about BULATS exam is available on our Web
site (http://www.britishcouncil.fr/examen/bulats/particuliers ), or at British Council Examinations service.
Payment
You may pay the examination fees in one of the following ways:
- Cheque payable to the British Council
- Bank transfer to British Council account number:

Please arrange for your bank to add 'name of exam/surname/exam date' to the 'Reference' field;
e.g. FCE/Dupont/15Jun2015).
Refunds
If you cannot attend the exam for medical reasons you are entitled to a 50 % refund provided we receive
your request along with a medical statement and a RIB within 5 days of the exam session.
Transfers and cancellations are also possible on the following conditions only: 1. The request is sent to us
by email ([email protected]) or by post at least 10 working days before the date of the exam: this
type of transfer will not incur additional fees; in the case of cancelling an exam, your fees will be 100%
refunded. 2. The request is sent to us by email ([email protected]) or by post between 10 and 4
working days before the date of the exam: the transfer implies 50% of additional fees; in case of
cancellation 50% will be refunded. For any request after this time no fees will be refunded.
Special arrangements
Exam conditions can be adapted to people with disabilities. Please contact the Examinations service of
the British Council at least one month prior to the exam session and provide a medical certificate.
Confirmation of Entry
Your notification letter will be sent by email. If you do not have an email address the notification letter is
sent by post mail.
Sitting the Exam
For all papers, you must be punctual. You must bring proof of identity (passport or French ID card) and
your Confirmation of Entry. The tests are supervised by the British Council staff. The supervisor is in
charge of checking candidates’ identities and explaining the test procedures.
Results
Results are instant for the Reading & Listening tests. Your official Test Report Form will be handed to you

by the supervisor between 12:30 and 12:45 on the test day only in the waiting room on the 2 floor. If this
time is inconvenient for you, the British Council will send it to you via post the day after your test.
For the Speaking & Writing tests, results are available 10 days after the test date. They are based on the
CEFR system (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) with levels from A1 to C2.

part entière à la déclaration établie par l’article 19, UNCRC, 1989, selon laquelle les enfants doivent être protégés de toute forme de maltraitance.
